Hezbollah Launches Front on Israel in Joint IRGC Strike — ‘Serious Escalation Ahead’

Hezbollah declared a military campaign against Israel on Wednesday night in what Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps described as a “joint and integrated operation,” launching more than 100 rockets, drones, and missiles at over 50 Israeli targets as Jerusalem retaliated with heavy strikes in Beirut and warned the confrontation is now “headed toward a serious escalation.”

Fresh US Intel Assessment Says Iran Regime Not Close To Collapse After 2 Weeks At War

A fresh report in Reuters says what should already be quite obvious to all: US intelligence has assessed that Iran's leadership and government are largely in tact and the system does not risk collapse, after two weeks of heavy sustained US-Israeli bombardment and 'decapitation' strikes which have killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and over forty top military leaders.

One of the intel sources was cited as saying that "multitude" of intelligence reports provide "cons

Iran's new leader issues new statement, says Strait of Hormuz to remain closed

Iran's new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei released a new message Thursday saying that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the war is over.

The message about the Strait of Hormuz -- a key route where much of the world's oil travels through -- was read by a news anchor on Iranian state television.

Khamenei also told Gulf neighbors that U.S. military bases need to be removed from their countries. Iran has repeatedly been firing at countries across the Middle East in response to the United States' Operation Epic Fury.

Mojtaba Khamenei did not appear in person while making the statement.

Fox News chief foreign correspondent Trey Yingst said Thursday on "America's Newsroom" that the late ayatollah's son was injured in one of the opening strikes of Operation Epic Fury, citing an Israeli intelligence official. Yingst added that the official downplayed reports that Mojtaba Khamenei was critically injured.

Fox News' Thomas Ferraro contributed to this report.

Just Now
State Dept says 47,000 Americans returned from the Middle East to US, assistance provided to 32,000

A State Department official told Fox News that around 47,000 Americans have now returned to the U.S. since Operation Epic Fury was launched on Feb. 28.

The official said Thursday that the State Department has provided assistance to about 32,000 Americans and has reached out to every individual who has registered interest in support from the State Department.

Approximately four dozen charter flights will be completed by the end of the day on Thursday, the official added.

Fox News' James Levinson contributed to this report.

A $20,000 drone upstaged by the $2,000 Ukrainian drone killer. Offered to the US but declined. Now, US is begging Ukraine for help with drones. Especially since the Russians are teaching the Iranians all they have learned on the battlefield, knowledge the US has ignored and even spurned.

In the real world, the US military has had observers in Ukraine for several years. Russian and Ukrainian drone and anti-drone warfare is far from news to the US military. Also, as @rangerrebew posted in the Military forum, a link I posted in the Ukraine forum, the US sent people to discuss Ukraine's anti-drone tactics, sent them before the attack on Iran began. It does not take a genius to figure out that their mission was not to learn from scratch, but to review and refine planned US anti-drone tactics.

Ranger's article is from March 5th. Mine is from 7 months ago. Yes people were sent before the operation, but only weeks before.

Up until March, the US was ignoring drone tactics learned by Ukraine on the battlefield. As a result the US fielded a $20,000 drone while Ukraine uses drones costing less than $3,000. The US is way way behind the curve.

That the base was attacked nearly 2 weeks into the campaign shows that Iranian armor was not a high priority target, which it would be if invasion and conquest was planned.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

That the US military had an Iranian shahed drone reverse-engineered - probably just the airfoil and engine type - and upgraded its electronics demonstrates that the US has not ignored drone technology or drone capabilities and tactics.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

A sad fate for more US-provided military aircraft:

The P-3 was a US anti-submarine patrol plane, provided to the Shah before Carter bailed on him. The P-3C has been replaced in USN service by the P-8 Poseidon.

The Il-76 is a Russian transport plane. Before the US attacks, Iran had 6 Il-76s and 28 C-130s (E's and H's). Like their inventory of F-14As and MiG-21 clones, their inventory of transports has probably shrunk significantly.

2. Your article is not being current is an excuse for making incorrect claims about US preparedness?

3. Moving the goalposts? :goalpost: The US LUCAS drone is a more capable drone that Iran's shahed, hence not as cheap. From https://www.armyrecognition.com/news/army-news/2025/us-develops-lucas-kamikaze-drone-to-surpass-iranian-shahed-136-as-loitering-munitions-become-core-to-future-warfare :

Quote
... Technically, the LUCAS/FLM 136 features an open architecture design, which allows for the use of modular payload bays that can accommodate reconnaissance sensors, electronic warfare modules, or explosive charges, depending on mission requirements. It supports 28V and 12V power supplies and includes a payload network enabling remote switching of systems during flight. Its launch methods include truck-based deployment and Rocket-Assisted Take-Off (RATO), enhancing flexibility for field operations without specialized infrastructure or crew training.

... However, LUCAS includes modular enhancements that support reuse in certain configurations, and its integration into the Multi-domain Unmanned Systems Communications (MUSIC) mesh network allows it to serve not only as a loitering munition but also as a communication relay between unmanned systems and command centers. SpektreWorks confirmed that the drone is capable of autonomous coordination with other platforms, making it suitable for swarm tactics and network-centric strike operations. These features differentiate LUCAS from its Iranian counterpart by offering flexibility, digital control, and integration within a broader American combat architecture, with a launch weight in the 70 to 100 kilogram range.

In simple terms, the LUCAS drone costs more because it can do more and do it incoordination with other US air assets. Far from being behind regarding drones, the US is far ahead of Iran, and has capabilities equaling or exceeding Ukraine's.

If the US was on or ahead of the drone curve, we would not be using $20,000 drones, but $2,000 Ukrainian drones to do the same job. Its self-evident.

If all of that was true, then why did the US turn down Ukraine's offer of giving us the tech and know-how, moreover, why then did the US suddenly rush to Ukraine to learn how to defeat Russian drone warfare in use in 47's War™? That alone shows the US is not ahead of Ukraine in drone warfare.

I think you are just doing the rah-rah thing, while ignoring the facts.

@JinWooIQ
🚨🚨🚨 IRAN JUST REVEALED IT HAS RUSSIA'S MOST TERRIFYING UNDERWATER WEAPON → AND THERE IS NO DEFENSE AGAINST IT 🚨🚨🚨

The IRGC commander just went on camera and said it.

"We have underwater missiles that travel at 100 meters per second. Only two countries in the world have them — Russia, the manufacturer, and us."

He's talking about the VA-111 Shkval.

Process that.

THE WEAPON:
→ A supercavitating torpedo — it creates a GAS BUBBLE around itself underwater
→ Travels at 360 km/h — FOUR TIMES faster than any conventional torpedo
→ At that speed, no ship on Earth can react in time
→ No countermeasure exists. None. ZERO.
→ From launch to impact on a carrier: under 30 seconds at close range

THE PROBLEM:
→ The US Navy's entire Hormuz strategy depends on surface ships
→ Aircraft carriers, destroyers, cruisers — all sitting on the water
→ The Shkval was designed for ONE purpose: killing ships that think they're untouchable
→ Iran has been hiding these in underground "Vessel Cities" — tunnel networks packed with attack boats, cruise missiles, and thousands of mines

💀 One Shkval = one destroyer GONE
💀 No evasion possible at 360 km/h — the ship is dead before sonar finishes processing
💀 Iran doesn't need to CLOSE Hormuz — they just need every captain to know what's underneath them

Insurance rates on tankers just became INFINITE

Iran is actively MINING Hormuz right now — UK just confirmed it
Oil spiked 10% to $96/barrel TODAY
The US is refusing to send naval escorts — and NOW you know why
The IEA is preparing the LARGEST emergency oil release in history

They're showing you oil prices and diplomatic statements.

They're NOT showing you what's sitting in those underwater tunnels pointed at every ship in the Persian Gulf.

You don't reveal your most classified weapon on live television for no reason.
→ You reveal it when you want EVERY navy in the world to know the cost of entering your waters.
→ And that only happens when you've already decided the Strait belongs to you.

This is the most dangerous naval standoff since the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Prepare accordingly.

Most people won't see this. RT to change that.

First designed in the 1960s by the Soviet Union.

The VA-111 is launched from 533 mm (21 in) torpedo tubes at 50 kn (93 km/h; 58 mph).

A solid-fuel rocket accelerates it to cavitation speed, with a combined-cycle gas turbine in the nose creating the required gas bubble.

Once accelerated, speed is maintained by an underwater ramjet fueled by hydro-reactive metals using seawater as both reactant and the source of oxidizer; the torpedo travels at around 200 kn (370 km/h; 230 mph).

Some reports indicate that the VA-111 possibly exceeds speeds of 250 kn (460 km/h; 290 mph), and that work on a 300 kn (560 km/h; 350 mph) version was underway.

"Shkval 2" - Current variant; believed to have additional guidance systems, possibly via the use of vectored thrust, and with a much longer range.

A less capable version currently being exported to foreign naval forces. The export version is referred to as "Shkval-E".

Speed:
    Launch speed: 50 knots (93 km/h; 58 mph)
Maximum speed: 200 knots (370 km/h; 230 mph) or greater

Range:
Around 11–15 km (6.8–9.3 mi) (new version). Older versions only 7 km (4.3 mi)

Well, if true, tell the Russians if one is used on any US ship then Ukraine gets first line weapons, tomahawks, etc. from the US for deep strikes into Russia.

From reply 1513 above:
"Fresh US Intel Assessment Says Iran Regime Not Close To Collapse After 2 Weeks At War..."

This reminds me of the first "Rocky" film.
Apollo Creed sees some easy money and figures he can knock out Rocky Balboa in the first or second round. But Balboa doesn't know that, and he just keeps on swinging with near-religious ferocity. Finally, Creed wins, but Balboa makes him "go the distance".

I'm wondering if it's going to be the same way with Iran.
No doubt the USA/Israel will eventually "win" -- indeed, if that's what we want -- but we're going to be forced to go the distance, to "pay the price".

When one mullah is knocked out, another rises to replace him.
The younger ones are probably more muhammed-rabid than the older ones who are killed off.

They just keep coming back for more.
We see that now in the attacks on shipping in the Persian Gulf.
Where you don't really need lots of missiles or shells, just be fairly accurate with what you have.
And that will stop the ships, or at the very least, put a BIG dent into shipping through the area.

Like BobfromWB suggested earlier, it will probaby require a "secure zone" about 150-200 miles "deep" into Iran along the Hormuz (and even northwest of that) to clear the Gulf.

If I had the opportunity to speak to Mr. Trump and Mr. Hegseth, I'd say:
"With all due respect, this war doesn't end when we stop dropping bombs on and shooting missiles at them -- it ends when THEY stop returning fire against US..."

EDIT:
Re BobfromWB's reply 1537 above regarding the supercavitating torpedo...
Fishrrman "you'd better believe it" prediction
If Iran uses this successfully on one or two American warships, this war may "go nuclear" very quickly.
Not the "big nukes".
But nukes nonetheless.

Aren't we glad they don't have nukes? (we hope)

They were dug in for this one, and thought quite a bit ahead. I'm amazed they've held together, so you wonder what that motivation factor is.

Bottom line it's going to take knife work to finish them off.
The Republic is lost.

Seems to me this torpedo has been around so long the US Navy must [ may ] have figured out a counter of some kind. Just a thought.

Perfectly following the practices of their prophet Mohammed.

There is no civilized behavior possible by these people.

We need to have all immigrants to this country take a pledge to denounce this, otherwise entry is denied into the US
That won't help. Lying for the advancement of Islam is practically a sacrament for them.

Sad end to some Tomcats:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1buhtHtzAs4
Considering those were delivered to the Shah's Iran, and parts embargoed after the Islamist takeover, I'm not sure how many of those were still flying.
Estimates of operational airframes at the start of the current hostilities range from 15-25, with 41 total; the rest having been cannibalized for parts. Whatever the number, these are still seriously outdated, and the Israelis have been reducing their numbers.
