AUSTIN, Texas - At the direction of Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Military Department (TMD) is activating Service Members for Operation Fury Shield - working alongside our state partners to protect our citizens and critical infrastructure from any potential threat of retaliation.

TMD will increase patrols at key locations like energy facilities, ports, and the southern border and enhance cybersecurity capabilities. Our steadfast commitment is to serve and protect the people of our great state.

U.S. Air Force B-2 Spirits quietly launched from their home in Missouri yesterday, crossed the Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea, put bombs on targets in Iran and are on their way back.

There were indications. MOST of us kept our mouths shut, though some decided not to.

A top commander has stated that Iran is a seditious state that “conspires against Muslims.”

I spoke with President Trump briefly this morning, BEFORE the announcement about US casualties - so he did not comment on that. But some notes:

He says the US knows how many targets are left -- and re: progress toward Iranian people taking control of their destiny:

“It’s moving along. It's moving along rapidly. This has been this way for 47 years," he said. "It's moving along rapidly. Nobody can believe the success we're having, 48 leaders are gone in one shot. And it's moving along rapidly.”

On concern about oil prices / impacts to Strait of Hormuz:

POTUS: “I'm not concerned about anything, Jacqui. I just do what's right. At the end, it works out.”

* he cited good outcomes from Venezuela, operations, attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities with B2 bombers:

POTUS: “If we didn't do that, they would have had a nuclear weapon within two weeks. And then all of this would not have been possible.”

I just got off the phone with some folks in Tehran. They told me, "You have no idea how much we danced and celebrated last night. The streets were packed with people, jumping up and down in jubilation until dawn."

They said "Don't worry about us. We are fine. Americans and Israelis are careful, surgical with their targets."

This is how hope takes root. Not in silence, not in fear, but with defiance in streets that refuse to stay quiet.
