That’s exactly what happened when a reporter confronted the Senate Minority Leader on why he blocked the Save America Act — the crucial bill to require proof of citizenship for voting — and asked about Rep. Tim Burchett’s comments that staffers are running McConnell’s office. McConnell sat there in his wheelchair, seemingly unaware of the questions being asked, with no response at all. The silence was deafening, and it speaks volumes about why the GOP has been so ineffective for years.
