 A petition to ban hunting in Oregon is picking up steam.

Animal rights advocates are fighting to change the law in Oregon, including banning most hunting, fishing and animal research. ...

Supporters call the proposal the PEACE Act, short for People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions.  ...

The chief petitioner says they have more than 100,000 signatures so far. By law, they need 117,173 verified signatures by July 2 to qualify for the ballot in November.

These people are certifiably nuts.

I was famished the other day and the road I was on had a dollar General and a Mickey D's every 3 miles.  So I rolled into the place with the Golden Arches.  Except, they don't have golden arches anymore.  Whats up with that?  They all look like the Borg Cube...lifeless and uninviting.   

So anyway I pull up to the talking wall with a menu on it and  ordered a regular burger and sm fries.  The box asked if I wanted to super size it?  No.  Would you like a drink? No. Just regular burger and a sm fry.  Pull up to the next widdow please and that will be $5.48.  $5.48?  You have got to be shitting me!

Now, I don't know if you can call that half dollar sized greyish brown looking patty meat?  But i guess that is what passes for it today.

I forget the name he used for it, but my grandson and some of his friends are playing a game using bolos. You score points depending on which stake it wraps around, play up to 21, and if you go over, you start over. I mentioned that those are a very old hunting weapon, and he got excited at that prospect. While they might be tough to utilize in turkey habitat in the wild, in town, with manicured lawns and spaces, it should be a cinch.

I agree banning meat isn't going to happen, but at $14-$16 for a double whooper w/cheese and fries and a drink is not going to get it with me. I will leave you with this. I can survive without BK, MacD, Wendy's etc. but they can not survive without their customers and I was one of them, not anymore!

I would much rather have a nice, redneck diner to go to... There's one east f here that's pretty good - Cislos - But it's too far away. A couple designer joints playing 'diner' are closer, but way too much money...

Back in the day, I would often eat my breakfast at the ol' El Rancho Cafe - At least coffee every morning, and I would often come draggin in late, missed dinner at home, so I would go there again at night.

I knew everyone in the joint - Most all the customers, which were all ranchers, and farmers, and blue collar boys, Every one of the sassy waitresses, and even all three cooks.

Good, good food, and good, good people. That was 'community'.

The fast food thing is altogether different.
