Why Charm and Charisma Matter More Than Results.

The Last Wire

They are polished, charismatic, and devastatingly effective at making people feel morally right for loving them. One governs a state on the brink. One is accused of killing a man. Both inspire intense devotion, mostly from women, and both thrive not because of what they achieve, but because of how their followers are trained to feel. Facts do not matter. Failures do not matter. What matters is the story, and the story feels righteous.

Mangione and Newsom are not heroes. They are symptoms. They are the visible evidence of a festering disease in American culture. Attractive men with charisma and media polish, they survive mistakes, mismanagement, and even murder allegations because image and tone matter more than measurable results. Loyalty is fueled by how they make people feel, not by what they deliver.

Mangione is an anti-hero for those who have had bad experiences with health insurance companies.

Newsom is a wannabe preppy poseur fraud in a suit who is Governor of an insane assylum posing as a state.

You know Newsom is bad when he is worse than the lesbian governor of Massachusetts.  California has always been on the bleeding edge of liberal insanity.

Mangione has the support of healthcare insurance vigilantes.  He is the bigger threat to the current order.

Newsom has the support of a few, connected, wealthy, powerful, influential Establishment figures.  Newsom is a creature of the current order and a creation of the Establishment - which Mangione's faction is seeking to overthrow.

This describes a social pathology that even puts mothers with children in tow out in single digit weather to interfere with the removal of the child sex offender next door.
The optics determine the belief, regardless of the outcome.
The optics are controlled by the media in one of the greatest PSYOPs since Pravda controlled the 'truth' in the USSR.
