Hypothetically, he is or would not be interested in the inheritance but, rather, ransom money funded by Savannah’s wealth or insurance. At this point,we just don’t know.

Mommy-in-Law is worth more dead, now, to Son-in-Law, than her being dead in the future.

Does the son-in-law, Meathead, have any bad habits that need to be funded - drugs, gambling, business failures, financial frauds, etc.?

We had something very similar happen here locally.  The brother-in-law killed his brother in law.  It took a long time to prove it, but he's gone away for life.  It was all over money of course....
