Strategy wise we don't need Federal troops patrolling the streets to stop crime. While that is nice it's state and local PD's job to do.
The other reality is that is not the priority. We are not battling random crime, but organized groups of terror activists who literally want to overthrow the govt while smokescreening their intentions with sanctimonious pontificating on a particular issue to justify their actions. We are fighting a war, not fighting crime.
Which means you don't have to go out there to combat them. Draw the line at Federal property, hole up and fortify, and these loonbags are so psychopathic that they will not be able to stand it, and will attack like wild Mongols. It will be difficult to stop in court, some circuit judge will be quickly overturned if they try to say that the FedGov can't protect it's own assets.
Then it's a matter of arresting them, sending them to jail and taking their stuff while cutting off their source of money, and it takes far less effort and money.
