Enough of a percentage to knock out the station.

But seriously, there is an incentive program for drone operation units.  They get rewarded with more drones based on a points system.  So it would make sense that their reward for knocking out this station was worth more drones than they used to do it.

The reward system has proved to be highly successful for Ukraine.  It is essentially a melding of capitalism and war which has never been done before at the invisible hand level.  And at any point, Ukraine can redirect its attacks by simply shifting the incentive to other targets.  The refineries and fuel depots are getting hit because Ukraine raised the rewards for hitting them.

Let's say 10%.  And lets say this particular unit sent 100 drones expecting 10 of them to reach the target.  Then they assess the probability that ten drones could destroy it.  So the reward for destroying the target would be considerably higher than the cost of 100 drones.

Pro-Ukrainian partisans blew up an electric substation supplying a military plant in the southern Russian city of Taganrog.

"(A)gents carried out an act of sabotage in Taganrog, damaging an electrical substation that supplied power to the "Atlant-Aero" defense plant," the Atesh group claimed.

The movement claimed the plant is involved in the full production cycle of "Molniya" strike-reconnaissance (unmanned aerial vehicles) UAVs, the production of components for heavy "Orion" systems, and the creation of control systems for mass (first-person view) FPV drones.

"The damage to the substation disrupted the stable operation of production lines at the 'Atlant-Aero' plant. Russian commanders operating near Kupiansk threatened to execute soldiers who refused to take part in assault operations, according to an audio interception released by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) on June 20.

According to HUR, the intercepted conversation involves personnel from Russia’s 26th Tank Regiment of the 47th Tank Division, which is deployed on the Kupiansk front in the Kharkiv region. The recording allegedly captures a commander discussing two soldiers who refused to continue advancing toward Ukrainian positions.

In the audio published by HUR, one of the Russian servicemen, identified by the callsign “Pryanik,” reportedly refused to continue the assault, citing health problems.

“Well, ‘Pryanik’ refused. We’ve been dealing with him and ‘Kit’ since four o’clock. Going forward? ‘I’m not going, damn it, I’m sick all over…’”

According to the Ukrainian intelligence agency, threats from commanders failed to change the soldiers’ decision. HUR said the two servicemen, known by the callsigns “Pryanik” and “Kit,” subsequently deserted their positions.

The intercepted recording also contains remarks from a Russian commander indicating he intended to find and punish the soldiers.

“They disappeared into the tree line on me… They’ve got nowhere to go anyway, I’ll find them. I was already getting ready to shoot them.”

HUR described the incident as an example of disciplinary practices allegedly used within some Russian units operating on the frontline.  .  .  .

Then-national security adviser Mike Waltz “tried – unsuccessfully – to get the message across that Zelenskyy should come wearing a suit”, they continue. “Bessent had strongly recommended to Trump that he not even allow Zelenskyy into the White House before he had signed” the deal.

“‘I’ve dealt with this little bleep,’ Bessent would say to associates about Zelenskyy,” according to the book. “‘He’s tricky. He’s like the special-needs child for the Europeans. And he’s acting like Mr Bean on crack.”

Zelenskyy did come, and Bessent was in the room as Vance carpeted their visitor. “Others present could see that Vance was steadily turning red,” Haberman and Swan write, as Zelenskyy’s insistence on pushing for security guarantees “began to sound to Vance like impertinence and ingratitude”.

Things went south from there.

After the disastrous meeting, Bessent told Bloomberg that Zelenskyy scored “one of the great diplomatic own goals”, adding: “I was shocked, shocked that President Zelenskyy would come into the Oval Office, behave like this, speak to the president, speak to the vice-president, but more importantly, disrespect the American people like this.”

Regime Change also contains alleged details of Bessent’s unsuccessful handling of the minerals deal. Prior to the Oval Office fiasco, the treasury secretary visited Kyiv to press Zelenskyy to sign. It did not go well.

“For 45 minutes, the men berated each other,” Swan and Haberman write. “Bessent had only been on the job for a few days, and already he had gotten into a shouting match with the leader of a country in the middle of a war. Finally he looked at Zelensky and said: ‘What the bleep do you want to do?’”

Negotiations are said to have stalled while Bessent battled the commerce secretary Howard Lutnick over how the deal should be worded. Eventually, Swan and Haberman write, “Trump asked JD Vance’s wife, Usha, also a Yale Law School graduate, to review the Ukrainian edits to the minerals deal. She declared the document ‘awful’, and [took] a heavy pencil to it.”

Most embarrassing for Bessent, however, may be his reported view of Trump himself, whom he is said to have compared to perhaps the greatest progressive boogeyman in many Republican minds.

Bessent told associates “Trump reminded him … of his old boss, the legendary investor and major Democratic donor George Soros”, according to the book. “‘They are the same animal,’ Bessent said.”

This lessens my opinion of Bessent who I actually like.  His hubris and arrogance, and that of Trump and Vance, is terrible, particularly in how they treated Zelensky, a fellow-Head of State of a country that was holding back an enormous monster, and doing everyone  a favor in the process.
