Excerpt:

You know that tense line between Second Amendment advocacy and outright anti-government rhetoric that can split even conservative circles? That’s the firestorm ignited at Monday’s Second Amendment rally in Richmond, Virginia, where armed militiamen were asked about the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti by federal agents in Minneapolis and the Trump administration’s response. The Virginia Kekoas militia, decked out in “Boogaloo” attire for the first time since 2023—symbolizing armed domestic conflict—gave answers that have enraged some MAGA supporters for calling the shooting “unjustified” and labeling the administration’s stance “tyrannical.” The group’s leader, who goes by ICE (a movie reference, not the agency), and member Sasquatch didn’t hold back, framing the incident as a violation of core rights and a sign of escalating tyranny.

While I respect the opinions posted, it seems that everyone is somehow omitting the fact that the guy intentionally inserted himself into a volatile situation, then literally fought with 5 LEO's.
The guy completely lacked situational awarness - by resisting a lawful detainment.

Also according to Minnesota gun laws state you are not to carry during protest.

Correct me if I'm wrong!

Alex Pretti definitely had the right to carry, per whatever permit he had (though not having ID and his permit with him violated MN law, probably just an infraction, not even a misdemeanor) and take video of what ICE and "protesters" were doing, to his heart's content. Where he violated Federal law and went beyond his 2A rights was interfering with enforcement of Federal law and engaging in the violent resistance that led to his being shot and killed. Pretti initiated and drove that fatal chain of progression.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It is a misdemeanor.  Minnesota statute 624.714, Subd. 1b.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-
