I expect we will see criminal charges, which I think are supported by the evidence I’ve seen. And I think the DOJ under @AGPamBondi and @AAGDhillon understand that this is a high visibility case, likely in front of unfavorable judges with a politicized jury pool, meaning everything has to be absolutely perfect.
This is why they will need to take the necessary time to ensure they are able to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, and you need to understand, non-lawyers, that just because you think you have really good evidence – and the video is really good evidence in my view – does not mean there is not evidence the defense can use effectively. That’s why you don’t just stop at the first piece of good evidence you get. You need to know everything that’s out there. We’re talking witness, interviews, phone records, traffic cameras, and dozens of other things. This all takes time. Let’s do it once, let’s do it right.
