No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Finished watching "Stranger things" last night. Worth the wait.
In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Watched "The Battle of Oslo" (Norway film) about the defending of Norway from the Germans (or lack of defense)... How one old commander of a fort on the bay sunk a German ship but was too afraid to go all out defending the country due to political this and that. The movie paints a picture that the old general was responsible for not doing his due to politics and lack of action from the government, but I have my doubts that he wasn't all in himself in defending the straits.

Basically Norway was easier to capture than the French.

Interesting movie, but not the most exciting watch, but a good break from all the fake Hollywood action films with faked fighting. It is subtitled so you have to read, but I found it fairly well translated. Rate it 6.5 out of 10.

I just watched Ordinary Men "The Forgotten Holocaust" on Netflix, a documentary of the German Nazi police forces that followed behind their military to basically execute Jews and other undesirable.
I read the book "Ordinary Men." Really chilling.

Also watched this (Season One only) ... It had some things going for it, for one an intelligent lead that was suave and sophisticated (like a James Bond without all the fake).

I liked that it was mostly devoid of cursing, it had some slight nudity but it wasn't in your face, mostly sideways glances. A nice cat and mouse good guy, bad guy battle of wits. Rating 6.7 out of 10

I tried watching "Will Trent" and "Best Medicine," since I had read so many of the Will Trent crime novels by Karin Slaughter and watched several seasons of the British series, "Doc Martin," on which the latter program was based, but they left me cold. The characters in the Will Trent TV series bear no resemblance whatsoever - in any way - to the characters in the books (throw in some affirmative action casting). And I thought Best Medicine's first episode program tried too hard to be as cute and endearing as the Doc Martin premiere (also with some creative casting). Didn't last more than a couple minutes with either program.

Rewatched The Yearly for the umpteenth time.

Excellent acting. And the primary story aside, it reminds me of how hard it was to survive in those times.

I agree.  I hope it gets better.  Maybe Annie Potts can save it.  Right now...it sucks.  I saw some Social justice posturing.

Will Trent has a 5'11" Puerto Rican actor portraying a 6'4" blonde, lanky Georgia guy. The producers have even had Trent discover his hispanic heritage, which absolutely is inconsistent with the many novels.

I must admit I can't find a movie called "The Yearly" for some reason. Help. @berdie

Ooops! I didn't proof read the post @Sighlass . It should be The Yearling. A really young Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman starring.

Ahh, Yes, great movie, where a young boy has to weigh his own heart vs the reality of his parents/father's wisdom. In a distant way, liberal versus conservative thinking. @berdie
