How is that an asset? How does it appreciate or depreciate in value?

Here is the definition of what an asset is:

In an economic sense, assets are resources owned or controlled by an individual or business that are expected to provide future economic benefits. They can be tangible, like cash and property, or intangible, like patents and trademarks, and are essential for generating income or increasing value. - Investopedia

Wages are the remuneration expected in trade for labor/effort.

You can choose to buy insurance with your wages or not.

I said it wasn't an asset.

Health insurance is not an asset and is a substantial expense for the employer benefiting the employee. I could be wrong, but I believe health insurance typically costs the employer about $1,500 a month per employee all by itself.

It’s an expense to both.

Wages and assets are different. They behave differently. Assets are things you acquire with wages.

Don’t be stupid and obtuse.  If your chart does not factor into its claimed wage element items such as employer-provided health insurance, then it is understating the wage factor and is a meaningless chart chosen mainly to buttress some other purpose, but it doesn’t portray the facts.

Wages are wages. I don't make the definition, nor do I set in place how the government defines them.

Whenever I do get to do all this work in that place where you set definitions for the government, I'll write that piece.
