They said he was a physics student at Brown 25 years ago, and also that he's a Portugese National, not an American citizen

Does that mean he was illegally in the country for 25 years?

 No.  He got a green card in 2017, so he was a legal permanent resident.

And they have a witness who can reliably tie him to casing the Brown Uni building before the shooting.  It was that witness’ information that led them to this guy, based on his physical description and a description of the rental car he was driving.

The witness was a Homeless dude camping out in the basement of the building where the shooting took place.  He saw the shooter casing the place several days before.  Brown had great security didn't they?

This entire fiasco was a heck of an advertisement for Brown University. A former student kills current students, a graduate who's now homeless cracks the case (was the degree really that worthless?) and every administrator comes across as incompetent and foolish.
