Kamala Harris: ‘There Will Be a Marble Bust of Me In Congress… I Am a Historic Figure’

Olivia Rondeau 9 Dec 2025

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is looking forward to a marble bust of herself being put on display in the U.S. Capitol, brushing off concerns about 2028 to instead focus on her “historic figure” status, in an interview with the New York Times.

Speaking with the publication’s Shane Goldmacher, the 61-year-old failed presidential candidate was unwilling to talk about whether or not she is considering another attempt at the White House.

“It’s three years from nooooow,” Harris pleaded in an interview with the Times conducted last month in Nashville, Tennessee. “I mean, honestly.”

She added, “I understand the focus on ’28 and all that. But there will be a marble bust of me in Congress. I am a historic figure like any vice president of the United States ever was.”

The U.S. Senate maintains a collection of vice presidential busts, with the chamber’s rules stating that “marble busts of those who have been Vice Presidents of the United States shall be placed in the Senate wing of the Capitol from time to time, [and] that the Architect of the Capitol is authorized, subject to the advice and approval of the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, to carry into execution the object of this resolution…”

One of the busts is located in the vice president’s formal office as head of the Senate, twenty are placed in niches in the gallery walls of the Senate Chamber, and the remainder are in the second-floor corridors of the Senate wing adjacent to the chamber, according to the Architect of the Capitol’s office.

The busts of former vice presidents Joe Biden, Mike Pence, and Harris are still in progress, with the bust of Vice President JD Vance to be commissioned when he exits office.

Instead of attempting to take the helm of the leaderless Democrat party, Harris has been on tour promoting her book, 107 Days.

“Thousands of people are coming to hear my voice. Thousands and thousands,” she told the Times. “Every place we’ve gone has been sold out.”

I honestly thought that Barak had the biggest ego on the planet.

And now this from the biggest idiot ever to occupy a seat in Congress. (Apologies to the family of Sheila Jackson Lee)

Interesting that she is beginning to capture the black vote.  I'd venture to say it's about the economy which Trump needs to take full responsibility.  Blaming it on Biden just isn't going to cut it.  Trump painted a picture of a better economy because of tariffs, a promise of $2,000.00 in everyone's pocket and that hasn't happened. Things right  now don't seem very promising for the GOP in the mid terms.

“Black voters, particularly in the South, have swung the party’s last two open presidential nominating contests. Ms. Harris has made a point of traveling through the South on her book tour. Her stop in Birmingham, Ala., was so popular that the venue added a second event.

Historic as the Titantic, the Hindenburg, and New Coke combined.

Cackle's picture will be next to "epic fail" in the dictionary.

She may be right. She is the first black woman VP. So there's that. She might also get the biggest E.G.O. award.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

For S & G's, wiki VPOTUS.

There have been 50 of them.  I am a political junkie, and still only heard of / familiar with 29 of them.  Especially the bunch prior to 1900.

I hope Cackles realizes she is and will be in the same hall, infamy, and league with Schuyler Colfax.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

"If all men are created equal, that is final. If they are endowed with inalienable rights, that is final. If governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, that is final. No advance, no progress can be made beyond these propositions. If anyone wishes to deny their truth or their soundness, the only direction in which he can proceed historically is not forward, but backward toward the time when there was no equality, no rights of the individual, no rule of the people."    -Calvin Coolidge

That would be a waste of marble. Maybe start with a marmalade sculpture, or just stuff a marmot and call it Madame VP.

Maybe she should pass out bobble head figurines of herself at a book signing and when you press a button it laughs like a hyena.

This life like figurine made of resin will only set you back $32.00 on Amazon.

  • Dems-greatest existential threat to USA republic!
She gets her name in the history books, and that will be it.  30 years from now, no one will remember her.  And that marble bust, it will be collecting dust in the basement of the Capitol not too many years after it is received into the building.

But she did set women back I figure 20-30 years.  Don't hold your breath for this country voting a woman POTUS.  After Hillary, and now Kamala, I think the electorate will block women from higher office for a few more decades.  The only way a woman gets to be POTUS in the next 20-30 years will be if the existing POTUS dies in office.

And frankly, as long as the Dems continue to embrace the lunacy they have incorporated into their platform, men/boys in women's/girls' lockerrooms/sports, I just don't see them winning key elections.  Already Gov Gavin Newsom is embracing the alphabet soup nonsense preparing for a presidential run.  He will not win the primary.  Not with the nonsense as part of his platform.  Might as well vote for buttboy as vote for him.
