Many, many years ago, I was listening to a talk radio broadcast which featured the guy who convinced 7/11 stores to put large windows in front so everyone could see in.  It reduced their robberies tremendously.  He had been a thief; said he didn't want to hurt anyone or be hurt but spent enough time in prison to learn this one thing.  If you are a thief and think the person you are about to commit a crime against might have a weapon and is scared, being a bad guy becomes a scary occupation. :scared smiley:
