You ever sit through a church service expecting a message on faith, only to get hit with a personal bombshell that leaves the congregation gasping? That’s what happened at a United Methodist church in Massachusetts  when 51-year-old Pastor Phil Phaneuf turned his Sunday sermon into a coming-out party, announcing he’s transgender and starting hormone therapy. “I get to announce with joy that I’m transitioning. I’m affirming and saying to all of you that I am transgender,” Phaneuf said, explaining he’s “not becoming a woman; I’m giving up pretending to be a man.” The room went silent as he detailed plans for she/her pronouns, a new middle name “Fiona,” and how his voice might “go a tad higher.”




Just the first minute alone shows how brainwashed this poor man is. "They have decided to choose their convictions and their beliefs over supporting their own child." Yeah, dude. That's the point. If they see their son heading toward hell, they are obligated to do so.

Sadly, very not surprising. If any in his congregation were "stunned", it may have been at how long he delayed this announcement.

Denominations such as the UMC, Episcopalians, and Evangelical Lutheran Church in America have been racing down this away-from-the-Bible road for several decades. As a consequence, many people and congregations have left these denominations, and the denominational attitude has been, "Good riddance, Fundie!"
