And here's a clue: The country folks are right, most of the time.

Generally everybody thinks they're right, most of the time, no?

What they think doesn't matter.
What they survive does...
THEN you'd better see how they did it.

Sure. But cities don't survive when SHTF. Veterans or not.
The purpose of cities is to combine together to jack up production and create wealth. Invariably at the expense of rugged individualism and self reliance.

That's a bare fact.

When SHTF and the support network of a city fails, the people don't know how to take care of themselves. And inevitably, the end is eating your own.

Rural folks know how to make do, because they make do every day, all their life long. They will make it through when SHTF.

Mamma used to use the Onion soup mix for a rub on roasts and such. Man! I'll tell you what, That makes a nice roast, right there.
My daughter still does, just like her mom.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
