Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia announced on Friday night that she will resign her seat in the House of Representatives, with her last day in office being Jan. 5.

Greene’s announcement, in a video and statement posted on X, followed a dramatic break with President Donald Trump, which she cited as playing a role in her decision to leave Congress in the middle of her third term.

Green, 51, had been a leading supporter of Trump and a prominent figure in his Make America Great Again, or MAGA, movement, while sparking controversy for promoting conspiracy theories and using extreme rhetoric.

But she recently faced harsh criticism from Trump for backing a bill to compel the Department of Justice to release investigative files about Jeffrey Epstein, the notorious sex offender.

MTG has come in, served and will be retiring from Congress in January. Sounds like a good resume, doesn’t it?

Well it’s not. You see there’s that spin and then there’s the underlying truth.

MTG came in, learned the system and then went on to milk it dry for everything it was worth. Let’s do a recap of MTG, shall we?

MTG served our country honorably and parlayed that into a Congressional run. The exact way the American system is supposed to work. Reward those who served this great country by putting your faith and your vote into a person who was willing to put their life on the line for us.

It’s all about honor. But honor is supposed to be forever, not only the time you wore the uniform. MTGcame in, was a hard ass, always seemed to be fighting for what was right, most importantly fighting for our Commander in Chief.

Was it all an act to be a part of Trump’s inner circle & use that to climb the food chain or did she always have other motives?

MTG left plenty of red flags as to where her loyalty lied. Her extra marital affairs, her allegiance to Kevin McCarthy where she didn’t even try to hide her affection for him. Was she also using him?

MTG was a part of MAGA and she used that for personal gain. Her main purpose was never about serving the great people she took a vow for in this great country, her main purpose was to serve Marjorie Taylor Greene.

She latched onto MAGA looking to be catapulted to the top. What did Ms. I served honorably do while being elected? She did what every greedy RINO does. She served this country dishonorably and lined her pockets like every other corrupt Politician

She used the system just like many other RINOs. Insider trading. She came in with nothing and after 5 years is leaving with hundreds of millions of dollars which was illegally obtained and punishable by law.

MAGA was her cover and power was her goal. Only she wasn’t dealing with a braindead Joe Biden which during those years she made her fortune. She was dealing with a man who is always 3,steps ahead and knew exactly the scam MTG was.

Trump kept her close. Always keep your enemies close. He didn’t give her a leash. The minute she said she wanted to run for Senate, that was when Trump shit her and her political career dead.

Message received by MTG. She tried running to every network to tell her version but once the dust was settled it was obvious, MTG was on her way out the door.

Trump sent her a devastating message. Your poll numbers are in the toilet so the Senate is out. Then Trump hit her hard. BTW if you are thinking of keeping your seat, you will be primaried by someone I fully endorse and under no circumstance will you win. That was it. The end of MTG.

She won’t dare bad mouth him on her way out the door because he will have the IRS climb so far up her ass they will be able to see daylight. He will dissect every trade she ever made by using insider information. She should kiss the ground Trump walks on before her exit and pray he doesn’t release the dogs on her.

The MTG summary is quite simple. She came in honorably, she served our government dishonorably, she used the power of her office to enrich herself and she didn’t do a bleep thing for the great people of Georgia who she took an oath to help.

MTG was using the Trump Train to catapult herself to the top and was found out by our great leader. Once she was exposed she acted like every Democrat, looking for a bailout by the rigged media only it wasn’t there for her. She even tried to kiss every liberal’s ass including the yentas from the View, CNN & MSNBC only to fall face first at Trump’s feet.

Now her prestige is over, her term is over and her career is over. Many Dems and RINOs before her tried to take on the boss and look what happened to them. Old Nancy was forced out, the Obama hand including Obama can’t sleep, McCarthy was thrown out, and who still stands tall? Donald J Trump. Never listen to the media. MAGA is stronger than ever. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., announced late Friday she will resign her seat in Congress, one week after President Donald Trump publicly pulled his endorsement of the outspoken Georgia lawmaker.

In a lengthy statement posted to X, Greene cited her growing disillusionment with Washington politics, blasting what she called a corrupt "Political Industrial Complex" that she said uses Americans as "pawns in an endless game of division."

"Americans are used by the Political Industrial Complex of both political parties, election cycle after election cycle, in order to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more," Greene wrote. "And the results are always the same — nothing ever gets better for the common American man or woman."

Greene said she had "never fit in" in Washington and was leaving Congress to "fight for the people of this country in a different way."

"I believe in term limits and do not think Congress should be a lifelong career or an assisted living facility," Greene wrote. "My only goal and desire has ever been to hold the Republican Party accountable for the promises it makes to the American people and put America First, and I have fought against Democrat’s damaging policies like the Green New Deal, wide open deadly unsafe border policies, and the trans agenda on children and against women."

Greene criticized her own party’s leadership for what she called a "sidelined" majority more focused on "safe campaign re-election mode" than governing.

Last I heard, Congress exempted itself from insider trading laws.

She inherited a construction business from her daddy, whose bedside she left to vote against Trump’s second impeachment.  She also has about $3M in passive holdings - not sure what if any of those she inherited.

It’s too bad she wasted so much energy defending a fraud instead of spending time with her family.  You get a sense of her remorse in her resignation video.  It finally occurred to her that after surviving a primary challenge led by Trump, his cult would expect her defend him some more.

Under Article 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution, House vacancies must be filled by a special election; no temporary appointments are permitted.
 Georgia law requires Governor Brian Kemp, as the state’s executive authority, to issue a writ for a special election within 10 days of the vacancy.
 The election must be held at least 30 days after the writ is issued, and if no candidate secures a majority, a runoff will occur 28 days later.

President Donald Trump revealed he would 'love' to see Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene make a political comeback just hours after labeling her a 'traitor.'

During a brief NBC News interview on Saturday, the president was asked about the Republican lawmaker's future after she abruptly announced she would resign from Congress in early 2026 following their public split.

Trump admitted that 'it's not going to be easy for her' to claw her way back into politics, but said, 'I'd love to see it,' noting that for now, 'she's got to take some rest.'

When pressed on whether the relationship between the once-inseparable pair could ever be mended, the commander in chief said: 'I can patch up differences with anyone.'

Just yesterday, Greene released a 10-minute video in which she announced her impending departure from Congress - a decision that neither Trump nor House Speaker Mike Johnson knew about beforehand, according to NBC.

'Everyone in the world found out at the same time,' a source close to Greene told the outlet.

Greene used Friday's lengthy video to brand the president 'hateful' for revoking his endorsement, a move that quickly saw him fire back and label her a 'raging lunatic.'

She admitted that her mounting frustration with Washington's political establishment, along with her fight to release the so-called Epstein files, became central to the feud with her once-close ally.
