 ‘Massive’ drop in Latino support for Trump stuns CNN analyst Harry Enten: ‘38 points underwater’

President Trump’s dramatic drop in support from Latinos stunned CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten, who shared polls Monday showing the commander in chief, once popular with the demographic group, is now severely underwater.

Trump’s huge gains with Latinos helped propel him to victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, but his support among the voting bloc is eroding fast, Enten demonstrated, blaming the president’s immigration policies.   

“He is 38 points underwater!” Enten said, showing a poll on how Latinos currently view Trump on the issue of immigration.

The data whiz compared it to an October 2024 poll, which showed Latino voters gave Harris only a slight, 2 percentage point edge over Trump on immigration.

Nothing has really changed other than Trump doing what he campaigned on with closing the border.

The deportations are multiple criminal offenders.

Are they looking for more amnesty?

The cartels have lost influence and reach.

Not sure what the sweet spot would be for Latino voters.

Legal immigrants should be enjoying the correction to the Biden failure very much.

I think the manner in which they are arresting people is the issue.  They are conducting conspicuous warrantless, extra-judicial seizures of persons in public.

They are not conducting 3:00 AM raids at the domiciles of violent illegal aliens with signed Federal warrants.  They are seeking to avoid the Federal court system for expediency, so, they conduct warrantless seizures of persons in public, during daylight, sometimes near schools during pickup and drop-off.

They need to start jailing and fining those who employ illegal aliens.  That was intended to be one of the deterrents of the Immigration Reform Act of 1986/1987.  If nobody hires the illegal aliens, they will go home.

The optics I've seen on it are pretty bad. Trump should have managed this better IMO.

Enten (CNN) has been pretty reasonable in his poll assessments, both good and bad news for DJT.

Yes the drop in approval ratings may be to MSM hype, but perhaps because their SNAP benefits were cut off??

Yeah, and plus, the Democrats are successfully conflating the words 'immigrant' and 'illegal alien.'

And this is exactly the way that the Blue state governors and mayors intended it to be in the so-called "sanctuary" cities and states. By refusing to allow their own law enforcement officers to quietly aid the federal agents at the court houses and jails, they're forcing the feds to make these very public and down and dirty arrests, knowing full well how'd it would look, and agitate the liberals and Hispanics wherever the immigration laws are enforced.

But therein lies another problem.  Outside of trades contractors hiring them outside of Home Depots for daily, untraceable wages, companies and farms that use them in mass go through "cut-out" subcontractor "staffing" companies to show plausible deniability.

How many times have we seen companies, processing plants, and farms claim that their workers are not actual employees but provided by third party staffing outfits whenver they et busted?

Big Businesses that outsource to Hiring Firms could be held accountable under conspiracy, RICO, and maybe Sarbanes-Oxley statutes.

Conspiracy to violate Federal Immigration Law.

RICO - Follow the money.  The Big Company benefits by paying lower cost to the staffing firm for illegal alien labor.  Saving money / cost avoidance via criminal activity is equivalent to earning money from criminal activity.  The benefit of the criminal activity is accretive to the Big Company's gross and net earnings.

Sarbanes-Oxley - The executives at the Big Company are willfully blind to the criminal activity that's accretive to their earnings and compensation and have failed to perform due diligence to ensure that all their employees, contractors, and vendors were in compliance with Federal Law.

Start perp walking Black Rock Executives and you'll see nobody hiring illegal aliens, and many will self-deport.  Conviction is irrelevant.  Grand Jury indictment and arriagnment of Big Company executives will be enough to bring other Big Companies to heel.  Once it becomes apparent that executives could face prison rather than paying fines, they'll get the message.  Letting them off with fines does nothing because Big Company executives pay fines with shareholders' money.
