Why the US Military Is Copying Drug Cartel Submarines to Fight China

In a modern war, having state-of-the-art technology like stealth fighters and hypersonic missiles is certainly important, but what is even more crucial, and often overlooked, is logistics—the ability to deliver supplies, fuel, and ammunition to small, isolated combat units without being detected. The US military has realized that its massive, multi-billion-dollar supply ships are now too slow and vulnerable to survive a peer conflict. The shocking solution? The Pentagon has taken a page directly out of the most successful illegal smuggling playbook on Earth, openly admitting they are designing and testing a fleet of unmanned, semi-submersible drone boats—directly inspired by the infamous narco-subs built by drug cartels—to secretly slip tens of thousands of pounds of vital supplies past enemy radar. The surprising reason why drug-smuggler technology is the true future of military logistics is #NotWhatYouThink.

The US is copying the cartels while the cartels were basically copying the Monitor and Merrimack!   Who's more creative?
