Well this nightmare is officially over until Jan 30th

That really isn't a whole lot of time and the nightmare will start all over again.  Mid terms are coming up so .... it's going to be a long shot for the GOP to hold on to their majority in the Houses and those up for re-election will likely change their tune somewhat. Hold on to your hats and your wallet, I don't think Trump's second term is going go smoothly.  The GOP wasted their majority and did nothing as usual. Just my opinion.

Of course and that is obviously why it is imperative that the GOP holds onto the House and Senate.   BTW impeached for what?

The Democommies do not need a reason to impeach Trump, they just need the votes.  And midterms could give it to them.

The folks that are Dems today fit in one of three buckets, the totally insane, the degenerates, or the dumber than a box of rocks.  Thank God Schumer caved.  The UGLY TRUTH is that the insane are running the Dems, so nothing good will come from these idiots.

The can was kicked down the road.  I see another shutdown coming.  And I  do not see the budget getting adopted any earlier than it was with the prior budget year, so they will not have a budget until July or August.

Creating a budget is one of the primary responsibilities for Congress, and they abdicate that responsibility.  I say set a date in granite each year, at least one month before the start of the next fiscal year, and failure to complete the budget by that date, and the entire Congress is forced to run for office.  I am not impressed by either political party, both sides of the aisle abdicate their responsibility.

Representative Austin Scott (GA) Blasts Senate Republicans for Paying Themselves Millions in Retroactive Penalties Within Hidden Clause in CR Bill

Buried on page 217 of the Senate Continuing Resolution Bill [TEXT HERE], Republican Senators have inserted legislation to “retroactively” pay themselves $500,000 each for every line of communication, telephone record, email or other electronic communication, subpoenaed by the Jack Smith Special Counsel during the Arctic Frost investigation.

The payment is a penalty for retroactive subpoenas going back to January 1, 2022. The payment is at least $500,000 per phone line or email account. That means each Republican Senator is going to make millions from the subpoenas that Jack Smith previously used..

Kaine: Air Traffic Control Was Getting ‘Dangerous’ While We Were Testing GOP Red Line

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA) said that Democrats were testing the red line Republicans had drawn with the government shutdown, and while they were doing so, “air traffic control was getting chaotic and even dangerous.”

Kaine said, “What Democrats want, our top goal, is to fix the healthcare system. Many Republican senators and House members are saying, we know we need to fix some of the damage that was caused by the reconciliation bill. Particularly, we need to stop people’s health insurance premiums from skyrocketing.”

These six House Democrats voted with Republicans to end the shutdown
by Sudiksha Kochi and Mike Lillis - 11/12/25 9:29 PM ET

Six House Democrats on Wednesday crossed the aisle to vote in favor of a funding measure aimed at ending the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

The Democrats provided a cushion for Speaker Johnson (R-La.) to get the measure across the finish line after two House Republicans — Reps. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) and Greg Steube (R-Fla.) — opposed the bill.

Behind House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Democrats voted overwhelmingly to oppose the spending package, citing the absence of language to address expiring ObamaCare subsidies.

But six Democrats bucked their own leadership to help reopen the government after 43 days: Reps. Jared Golden (D-Maine), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-Wash.), Adam Gray (D-Calif.), Don Davis (D-N.C.), Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) and Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.).

Almost all of them are facing tough reelection contests in next year’s midterms.

The Democrats helped GOP leaders pass the measure relatively easily, 222 to 209.
