Scientists have been faced with a huge dilemma, as research reveals that reducing air pollution has increased global warming.

While smog kills millions of people every year, it also whitens clouds – making them more reflective.

So by slashing air pollution, we’re inadvertently diminishing the brightness of clouds, which are key regulators of global temperature.

As a kid some 70 years ago in Michigan, I can attest to the fact it was much cooler and cloudier, factory smoke and smell, polluted waterways, etc., the weather noticeably different.  Weeks on end without seeing blue skies, rain showers and drizzle, and fog were common.  Now it's weeks without rain, scattered clouds, and increased heat.  Yes, it has changed.

This, of course, has been omitted from all the alarmist models that assume all the warming observed since the 1970's (or 1850's) is due to greenhouse gasses.

Cloud formation (or lack thereof) is one of the major determinants of global (and regional) temperatures.  This is the reason there is exactly one "geoengineering" proposal that makes sense:  allow pre-Clean-Air-Act levels of sulphur in jet fuels used on routes travelling north of 50 degrees North Latitude.  Besides human influences on cloud formation, the modulation of cloud formation by cosmic-ray flux (the Svensmark effect) that explains the correlation between the sunspot cycle and global temperatures here is ignored in all the alarmist models.
