From unexploded bombs to effects on surfing and plankton – Thurso academic publishes damning scientific paper highlighting 10 negative consequences of offshore wind farms

A retired Thurso academic has just published a peer-reviewed paper with points she believes should be carefully considered when siting an offshore wind farm.

Lonneke Goddijn-Murphy achieved a PhD as a physicist/oceanographer and describes herself as having a “passion for the sea”. She has been a long-term campaigner against offshore wind farms and has published papers on the online platform Substack, which enables writers to create newsletters, podcasts, and videos for a direct audience of subscribers.

“[I am] concerned about the rapid industrialisation of the sea by offshore wind farms and related infrastructure,” says Lonneke. “The rate at which large offshore wind farms are being developed and deployed before their impact is properly understood is questionable.”

She recently sent a letter to Highland councillors titled ‘10 Things to consider before approving another offshore wind farm’ and has just published a condensed version of this on her Substack page called Sealetters.

  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Add to that the radar clutter caused by windmills, and the potential for everything from drug smuggling to strategic strikes getting through because they can fly below blade height.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

The cost of the generated electricity is too expensive and unaffordable.  Never economically feasible without Government subsidies and electricity rate hikes.

Typical Stalinist central government planning of the economy.

How many marine mammals were harmed by sonar surveys for offshore wind farms?

It was all Pinko Commie Nonsense.
