Abigail Spanberger seals historic Virginia win, ending GOP’s Glenn Youngkin era

The Fox News Decision Desk has projected that Democrat Abigail Spanberger will become the next governor of Virginia.

Republicans had hoped to replicate the 2021 upset engineered by outgoing Gov. Glenn Youngkin, but now face at least two years without control in Richmond, with both legislative chambers remaining in Democratic hands.

After scandal-plagued down-ballot candidate Jay Jones — running for attorney general — Spanberger carefully responded to repeated pressure to call for her fellow Democrat to drop out after he envisioned the murder of former House Speaker Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah.

Opponent Winsome Earle-Sears, the outgoing lieutenant governor, urged Spanberger to comment on the Jones scandal and clarify her stance on transgender students’ participation in school sports and use of bathrooms aligning with their gender identity..............

DEMS are the clear winners tonight.  If this is any indication as to how the 2026 midterms are going to go, the GOP is in a heap of trouble and conservatism is going to take a beating.

The Rats will crow about winning what they already have, and particularly in VA, four years of massive federal expansion under Skeezy created a whole pool of Rat residences. My only hope was that Miyares would win so that the lawfare reindeer games wouldn't happen. Now we'll have Jones assassinating Republicans in their doorways and Rat voters will cheer .

Bad night for the GOP in general, but especially VA.   The Muslims taking over the U.S. is becoming very real; slowly but surely.

Virginia elects Ghazala Hashmi as first Muslim in statewide office

Fox News Decision Desk projected that Virginia state Sen. Ghazala Hashmi is set to become the next lieutenant governor of Virginia, marking the first time a Muslim has been elected to statewide office in the Old Dominion.

Hashmi, who was born in Hyderabad, India, and grew up in Georgia, represented Chesterfield County in the Virginia State Senate.

Her expected victory over conservative talk radio host John Reid will see her preside over the Virginia State Senate, where Democrats control a narrow majority in the upper chamber.

Hashmi's campaign focused on supporting public education, expanding Medicaid and protecting abortion rights, among other priorities. She also leaned into climate change, environmental protection and affordable housing.

For me ... the election is over and the Democrats had a clean sweep.
I'm watching Tulsa King on Paramount.

No sarcasm intended, but it really is going to fun to watch how all of this steaming pile of shit in the entire NorthEast implodes on itself.

This was a golden opportunity to divide and conquer. Instead they were stabbed in the back by the GOP with Trump even endorsing Cuomo after all the evil he pulled in 2020. Cuomo literally took away people's birthdays and we're sitting here... leaving the actual GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa to flail in the wind. Saw our Governor Abbott kiddingly today said he'd impose a 100% tariff on anyone from NY wanting to move to Texas.

I wish he wasn't kidding.  Or Virginia for that matter.  These states accept and elect murder threatening  texters and communists.  We don't want  that shit in Texas.
