CNN’s Van Jones among those raising alarm at Mamdani’s instant ‘character switch’ after winning power
By Emily Crane
Published Nov. 5, 2025, 7:16 a.m. ET

Lefty luminary Van Jones was among those raising alarm at Democratic socialist mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s rage-filled victory speech, noting his instant “character switch” at winning power.

A roaring Mamdani wasted no time in claiming a mandate for his potentially budget-busting progressive agenda and taunting President Trump as he rallied his fired-up supporters soon after winning Tuesday night.

Jones was quick to note live on CNN that the 34-year-old’s triumphant demeanor was a far cry from the cool, calm and collected candidate seen on the campaign trail.

Gee Van, what did you think he was going to do.  The guy is a freaking Death to America Muzzie.  You and your ilk should hang your heads in shame.

Jay Jones won by a landslide to become VA’s Attorney General.  After the comments about wishing a violent death of a political opponent AND HIS CHILDREN, that all sends the message that voters in Virginia are OK with murder as a political tool.

This ⬆️ is not exactly true.

Jones won because by the time this story broke, nevermind became an issue, early voting had been going on for at least a month.  Remember, there are no do-overs because you learn later in the campaign about something that would have changed your vote.

A main purpose of early voting is to lock in that vote, no matter what.

For me ... the election is over and the Democrats had a clean sweep.

Why are Democrat wins in three solid blue states even news, nevermind characterized as some sort of surprising "sweep"??

Gloating over what you should have easily kept in the first place is not exactly winning.

Some observations on yesterday's elections...

In New York City, it wasn't even close -- zombie-mammi won with an absolute majority. As I predicted here in previous posts, there was no way possible for cuomo to win. Some (about half) of Curtis Sliwa's voters shifted to cuomo, but even with [almost] 100% of them, it looks like mammi still would have edged out victory.

Nor was it close in New Jersey, in spite of pre-election polls showing a "competitive" race. sherrill thrashed Ciaterelli by about 13 percent.
Fishrrman prediction: New Jersey won't elect a Republican governor again for a long time.

In Pennsylvania, those three dem-communist Supreme Court judges all retained their seats, all getting at least 60% of the vote. Still, PA remains a purple state with a "red core" in the middle... for now.

Virginia...
There's a hard lesson to be learned here.
If you want to WIN, you DON'T:
- run a governor candidate who's black.
- run a governor candidate who's female
and finally
- run a governor candidate who wasn't even born in the USA.

You run a white USA-born male who's got a proven conservative record.
Regardless of how inspiring Winsome-Sears' record may have been, her candidacy wasn't going to cut it in a state where the red areas are still filled with "Southern Men" (a la Neil Young). I'll reckon that a lot of those boys just stayed home Tuesday.

In any case, Virginia has turned into a mid-Atlantic version of Illinois or New York, with overpopulated blue areas that can completely overwhelm the sprawling (but far less populated) southern and western counties. spanberger won by 80%+ in some of those northern areas.

Virginia is a blue state now. I don't see how it can "go back" in its current form. The smartest thing the southwest part of the state could do would be to break off and join West Virginia.

The California redistricting initiative won by almost 2-to-1.
The message here for the red states: hurry up and do the same before the 2026 elections, if you want the federal government to STAY "red".

The writing is on the wall regarding this issue.
Texas and Missouri have moved in the right direction.
Time for the other red states to fall in line.

Final thoughts...
As much of America drifts slowly towards socialism-communism, we must finally realize:
(and you're not going to like this)
Nonwhites do not value the traditional -- and "Western" -- concept of "freedom" as do whites of European heritage.

And as their numbers increase here, that will become more and more apparent.

Look at New York City, and its HIGH numbers of nonwhites who were born elsewhere.
For them, "Freedom" just doesn't count as much as does "Free STUFF".
What we just saw happen in New York, will soon be happening all over.

However...
It's too easy (and wrong) to blame "them".

Pollster generally suck, but the NJ  prognostication is up there with Iowa last year for POTUS.  3 does not remotely equal 13

Have to agree with most of that @Fishrrman I sure wasn't expecting Joyzee to flip, particularly given the amount of money they apparently dumped into the race.

Four years of massive FedGov expansion without a doubt added many new Rats to the rolls in No VA the last four years. Another Younkin type victory seemed not very likely. My only wish is that Miyares would have held on, as him at the AG position would have basically neutered Spanberger.

Mamdani is what you get when you allow for years of unrestricted immigration, ranked choice voting, non-citizen voting, etc.

I don't know the turnout rates, but alot of this looked like Rats giving the bird to Trump, along with alot of money spent, neither of which points to anything solid, just a stop gap firewall.
The Republic is lost.

Christianity and conservatism are in the leftist Marxist crosshairs.  Should the losses continue into '26 and '28 I have little doubt we will be defending ourselves in our own homes.

The 2A comes heavily into play and you know gun confiscation will be implemented.

No escaping to Canada... they are already pushing to seize guns.

God help us.

POTUS had some good thoughts this morning.  He was talking to republican senators and encouraging them to use the nuclear option and get rid of the filibuster.  As much as I don't want to see that happen because the genie will never be put back in the bottle, POTUS said he talked with some democrat friends and they assured him that they plan on getting rid of it when they get back in control of congress.  So the POTUS rationale here is get rid of it and pass everything you ever want to pass, because the dems will certainly use it to screw the repubs when they get in office.  He's likely right.

Agree

I’ve had a chance to read some of the texts and he was not subtle

Him being elected to Attorney General to me is worse than what happened in New York City. Now he’s the chief law enforcement officer of VA

Even apart from his wanting to kill the children of Republicans, he has no actual practical experience as a lawyer. Like all his fellow communists, he's all ideology and no reality.
