The thing is, the "Vietnam War", was not really a separate war. It was a campaign in what we call "the Cold War", which was really WWIII fought in slow motion with the principals never engaging directly (save a few dogfights over Korea), thanks to nuclear deterrence.
We won the Cold War in 1992 when the Soviet Union collapsed.
So thanks to all of the Cold War vets, be it Vietnam, Korea, the liberation of Grenada, special ops in various places. We won. Of course, as usual, the politicians managed to f*** up the peace, and Ukraine is paying the price for that.
This is an interesting coda to the campaign some of you fought in Vietnam, as is the fact that even while they still considered themselves Communists, they were effectively our allies against the new adversary, China, and had actually switched their economy to a fascist model (market economy with a one-party state tweaking things in its own interests).
