I remember 60 some years ago in high school, hearing a story about GM paying someone $100,000 to get back an experimental carburetor that had somehow gotten on a production model car. That was a
LOT OF MONEY THEN. GM workers made in the &2-3/hr. range. Why? The carburetor got 50 mpg. This is all the further we've come since then? I don't think so.
