I do not know what all this Peace Deal talk is all about,
but this is very far from over. There is no end in sight.

The "Peace Deal" stuff is just confusing me?

You mean the "peace deal" that really wasn't a peace deal to begin with because Hamas had no intention of complying?

Hamas gets ready to execute three dissidents. This is the group that Tucker Carlson insists is a “political movement.” Can anyone give an explanation for why a smart guy like Tucker would say that?

This is who Hamas is.  This is the entity that Israel was on the precipice of obliterating onto the dung heap of history just a few short days ago.

This is the same Hamas that is supposed to disarm, renounce violence or leave Gaza according to the peace agreement (that they never agreed to).

Hamas disarm?  Is that supposed to be a sick joke?

Item #6 of the Peace agreement:

6. Once all hostages are returned, Hamas members who commit to peaceful co-existence and to decommission their weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.

Dozens have been killed in Gaza during violent fighting Sunday and within hours of the expected release of hostages in the war-torn region, according to local reports.

The clashes between local militias also came ahead of a televised address in which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the imminent hostage release "the beginning of a new path."

The Israeli president had cautioned, "The campaign is not over. There are still very great security challenges ahead of us."

Locals said gunfire had sent families fleeing in panic.

Hamas Hostage’s Father Hoping for a ‘Miracle’ His Son Is Still Alive

The father of Israeli-American hostage Itay Chen, who is among those who are believed to have been killed by Hamas on the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, is hoping for a “miracle” that his son is still alive.

Elizabeth Weibel 12 Oct 2025

The father of Israeli-American hostage Itay Chen, who is among those who are believed to have been killed by Hamas on the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel, is hoping for a “miracle” that his son is still alive.

During an interview with CNN’s Becky Anderson, Ruby Chen said that, while the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had said Itay, 19, who served as a soldier with the IDF, had been killed and had his body taken to Gaza, there was not “physical evidence.”

“The knowledge of the IDF that indeed he was killed, we do not have that physical evidence,” Chen stated. “That’s missing. That leaves some sort of doubt that hopefully, even tomorrow, there might be some sort of surprise for us. A miracle.”

Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Joel Pollak reported in March 2024 that David Mencer, a spokesman for the Israeli government, had said that “Israel had determined” that Itay had “in fact been killed”:

He noted that Israel had determined that American-Israeli soldier Sgt. Itay Chen, 19, who served in an armored brigade that engaged Hamas terrorists during the October 7 attack, had in fact been killed, with his body taken to Gaza.

The Times of Israel noted that his family has refused to observe traditional Jewish mourning rituals until his body is returned.

Trump says all sides are cheering, as flight to Israel takes off

Moments ago, Trump set off for Israel aboard Air Force One.

Just before he boarded, Trump spoke to reporters waiting for him at the steps of the plane.

"This is going to be a very special time," he says. "This is a very special event."

He says there were "500,000 people yesterday and today in Israel" and says the "Muslim and Arab countries were cheering. Everyone was cheering at one time, that's never happened before.

"Usually if you have one cheering, the other is the opposite," he continues.

He ends by saying "everybody is amazed, they're thrilled, and we're going to have an amazing time."

What can we expect tomorrow?

As Trump set off for the Middle East he said "the war is over" in Gaza - but Monday will bring a day of diplomacy and the deadline for Hamas to release the remaining hostages is due to expire.

Under the terms of the ceasefire, brokered in part by Trump, Hamas have until 12:00 local time (10:00 BST) to release all remaining Hostages.

Although no time has been given, Israel says that it is expecting all 20 living hostages to be released to the Red Cross on Monday morning.

President Trump is set to land in Israel tomorrow morning, he'll be greeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog. They will then hold a meeting.

Trump will then depart to Egypt where he will host a summit with Egyptian president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, joined by world leaders will be taking part in this, but Netanyahu and Herzog will be staying in Israel.

This is where the peace plan for Gaza will be signed.

Trump, Sissi to chair Gaza summit in Egypt; Abbas to attend; Israel, Hamas not invited
Times of Israel, Oct 12, 2025

[...]

According to Egypt, the confab is designed to finalize an agreement aimed at ending the war in Gaza and rally support for the second phase of Trump’s peace plan that looks to disarm Hamas and create a new governing body in the Strip.

A Trump administration official told The Times of Israel on Sunday that the event aims for the four guarantors of Trump’s plan — the US, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey — to “agree to the very broad principles” of the current 20-point framework.

The focus of the event, according to the official, is to solidify the backing from guarantors of the deal — “not the parties” — noting that otherwise, representatives from Israel and Hamas would need to be present.

It is unclear how the summit itself can formally end the war. Israel has said it will not agree to end the war until it is satisfied that Hamas no longer poses a threat and has no part in the rule of Gaza. However, the solidifying of a US-coordinated bloc of nations opposed to any continuation of the war would likely make it more difficult for Israel to resume fighting.

Israel was not invited to the event, a separate source told The Times of Israel.

Hamas also will not attend, according to officials in the terror group.

The summit “could tee up a wider movement toward normalization” with Israel in the region, a shared goal of Israel and the Trump administration, the US official added.

News of the summit was first reported on Friday by Axios, which said Trump had organized the event and that invitations had been extended to leaders or foreign ministers from Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Qatar, the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

The outlet reported that the US State Department issued official invitations to the leaders’ summit and has significantly expanded the list of invitees to include Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Cyprus, Greece, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada.

Iran was also invited, according to one source cited by an Axios reporter on X, in an apparent signal underlining Trump’s stated desire to eventually build relations with the nation and even bring it into the Abraham Accords. Iranian media said it would not attend.

Several leaders have confirmed their attendance, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II.

Ahead of the summit in Egypt, Trump will arrive in Israel on Monday morning and address the Knesset before departing for Sharm el-Sheikh four hours later.

The War Is Over, the Hostages Will Return. Now Comes Netanyahu's Battle to Rewrite History
Haaretz, Oct 13, 2025

[...]

The "battle over the narrative" will open in the Knesset on Monday in a festive debate in the presence of the American president. No one there will boo him when Netanyahu speaks. The prime minister will link himself to fake headlines, say how he heroically withstood pressures "from home and abroad" and so on.

We're entering an election year, and one thing cannot be taken from Likud: they always know how to spot a good campaign. Actually, that's the only thing they know how to do. Run the country? Protect people's security? Make freeing the hostages a priority? Less so. The moment the spontaneous boos were heard in the Hostage Square, the Bibi machine went into overdrive.

Everything was suddenly dwarfed: the conspiracy, failure and massacre, fostering Hamas, ridiculing the Shin Bet security service and Military Intelligence's warnings before October 7, the abandonment, torpedoing hostage deals, pursuing a purposeless war, inciting against the hostage families. What is that compared with the terrible crime committed by the Israeli masses in Hostage Square on Saturday night, October 11?

Not only did they boo Netanyahu, but they also applauded when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's name was mentioned along with the other mediators. The right was outraged. Unpleasant, but that's how it is: the man who abandoned us on October 7 deserves the whole world's contempt afterward. And those who took part in the talks that ended the abandonment and the war of fools that brought disaster to two peoples are praiseworthy.

The boos that sounded when Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff thanked Netanyahu for something unclear were a collective response from hundreds of thousands of people slandered and defamed by him, his associates and mouthpieces for two years, to the level of blood libels: "anarchists," "fascists," and "protesters funded by foreign NGOs and governments."

"I was with him in the talks; he worked very well," an embarrassed Witkoff tried to explain. That's exactly the point: When Netanyahu was alone in the talks, he worked hard to systematically torpedo any chance of progress. When Witkoff was with him, under Trump's threatening shadow, what choice did Netanyahu have but to play nice?

Trump will presumably also praise Netanyahu in the Knesset on Monday for his leadership, etc. That's their deal. Praise me, and I'll praise you. But reality is totally otherwise. The Washington Post reported on Saturday that Trump applied no little pressure on Netanyahu, who didn't want this deal just as he's never wanted any deal. Trump went so far as to threaten to cut off (presumably military and) diplomatic support at the UN if Israel said no to his 20-point plan. Netanyahu had no choice.

After all, had the plan been proposed by U.K. Kier Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, the gates of hell would have been opened. Netanyahu would have said, "It's a prize for Hamas." Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar would have ridiculed their dismal polls (he knows something about that). But when Trump orders, everyone stands at attention and lauds him.

Even the commentators, who a moment before said with flushed faces and sly tongues that stopping the war when Hamas is still standing was a "shameful surrender" and that any willingness to integrate the Palestinian Authority in Gaza's administration on the "day after" and agree to a future Palestinian state was national suicide, are now praising the plan and demanding Netanyahu get credit. Hypocrisy has committed suicide.

Seven hostages freed and handed to Red Cross, says IDF

The Israeli military has confirmed that seven hostages have been transferred to the Red Cross and are on their way to meet Israeli forces.

A large crowd gathered to support hostage families in Tel Aviv erupted in celebration at the reports.

A social media post from the Israel Defence Forces said it was “prepared to receive additional hostages who are expected to be transferred to the Red Cross later on”.

Joy in Hostages Square

Thousands of people gathered at Hostages Square in Tel Aviv roared their approval as it was announced from a stage that the first seven live hostages had been released into Israeli army hands.

The reports have not been formally confirmed by the Israeli government or the Israeli Defence Force but those released are said by Israeli media to be Matan Engerst, Guy Gilboa Dalal, Alon Ohel, Eitan Tzur, Gali and Zivi Berman, Eitan Mor and Omri Moran. A later update did not include the name Eitan Tzur.

Jude Frajdenrajch, 55, waving an Israeli flag, said: “I have been coming here every Saturday to the square. I just wanted to see them come out.”
