One hundred forty-five hours have passed since Israel accepted this deal.  Still waiting for Hamas to accept it.  Especially Point 6 where Hamas surrenders their weapons and agrees to co-exist in peace with the Jewish State.

I don't know about this ⬆️. Thanks to Trump's leadership, we're seeing a peace plan unfolding that the neighborhood's put together.  We might actually see peace, security and prosperity come from this.

I sincerely hope we do but if history is any guide we won't.

Joy in Israel and Gaza after ceasefire announced
Reuters, Oct 9, 2025

JERUSALEM/CAIRO, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Israelis and Palestinians rejoiced on Thursday after a ceasefire and hostage deal was announced under the first phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war in Gaza.

The enemies both publicly endorsed the deal and had been expected to sign it around noon in the Egyptian beach resort of Sharm el-Sheikh (0900 GMT), though there was no immediate official confirmation that the signing had taken place.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the ceasefire would take effect once ratified by the Israeli government, which would convene after a security cabinet meeting scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

Israel's hostage coordinator Gal Hirsch said the list of the Palestinian prisoners to be freed was still being worked out.

Residents in Gaza reported a series of air strikes on Gaza City around the time it was due to be signed.

CEASEFIRE, WITHDRAWAL AND RELEASE OF HOSTAGES

Under the deal, fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza and Hamas will free hostages it captured in the attack that precipitated the war, in exchange for prisoners held by Israel.

Under the deal, fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza and Hamas will free hostages it captured in the attack that precipitated the war, in exchange for prisoners held by Israel.

A source briefed on details of the agreement said Israeli troops would begin pulling back within 24 hours of the deal being signed.

The release of all 20 Israeli hostages still believed to be alive in Gaza is expected on Sunday or Monday, an Israeli official said. Another 26 hostages have been declared dead in absentia and the fate of two is unknown. Hamas has indicated it may take time to recover bodies scattered across Gaza.

Palestinians and the families of Israeli hostages broke into wild celebrations after news emerged of the pact.

In Gaza, where most of the more than 2 million people have been displaced by Israeli bombing, young men applauded in the devastated streets, even as Israeli strikes continued.

'ALL OF THE GAZA STRIP IS HAPPY'

"Thank God for the ceasefire, the end of bloodshed and killing," said Abdul Majeed Abd Rabbo in Khan Younis in southern Gaza. "I am not the only one happy, all of the Gaza Strip is happy, all the Arab people, all of the world is happy with the ceasefire and the end of bloodshed."

Einav Zaugauker, whose son Matan is one of the last hostages, rejoiced in Tel Aviv's so-called Hostages Square, where families of those seized in the Hamas attack that sparked the war two years ago have gathered to demand their return.

"I can't breathe, I can't breathe, I can't explain what I'm feeling ... it's crazy," she said, speaking in the red glow of a celebratory flare.

"What do I say to him? What do I do? Hug and kiss him," she said. "Just tell him that I love him, that's it. And to see his eyes sink into mine ... It's overwhelming — this is the relief."

Still, Gaza residents said Israeli strikes on three Gaza City suburbs continued overnight and in the morning hours of Thursday, residents said, though there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The Gaza health ministry said at least nine Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the past 24 hours.

Just a day after the second anniversary of Hamas militants' cross-border attack that triggered Israel's devastating assault on Gaza, indirect talks in Egypt yielded the agreement as the initial stage of a 20-point framework put forward by Trump.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENT FOR TRUMP

The agreement was widely portrayed as a major diplomatic achievement for the U.S. president, who had campaigned on promises to end fighting in Gaza. He cast it as a first step in a plan to bring reconciliation to the wider Middle East.

"All Parties will be treated fairly! This is a GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, who worked with us to make this Historic and Unprecedented Event happen," he wrote on social media. "BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS!"

The deal received a chorus of support from Arab and Western countries which had watched multiple ceasefire efforts fail.

The next phase of Trump's plan calls for an international body led by Trump, and including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, to play a role in Gaza's post-war administration.

Arab countries which back the plan say it must lead to eventual independence for a Palestinian state, which Netanyahu says will never happen. Hamas rejects putting Gaza under international rule, and any role for Blair.

More than 67,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's assault on Gaza, launched after Hamas-led militants stormed through Israeli towns on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people and capturing 251 hostages.

In parallel, Israel's military has waged campaigns that have tipped the balance of power in the Middle East in its favour, killing the leaders of Hezbollah in a campaign in Lebanon and top Iranian commanders in a 12-day war against Iran.

But global outrage has mounted against Israel's assault, leaving it internationally isolated.

Hamas needed more time to locate hostages 'scattered across Gaza'

Former White House hostage policy team member Alex Plitsas says Hamas likely needed more time to locate the hostages--dead and alive--who remain in their custody ahead of Wednesday's peace agreement.

Negotiators assessed that 20 hostages remain alive, while 28 are deceased and their bodies have been "scattered across Gaza."

According to the deal, Hamas has 72 hours to release all the remaining hostages, both dead and alive.

Israel says ceasefire to take effect 'within 24 hours' of Cabinet meeting

Israeli Prime Minister's Office spokeswoman Shosh Bedrosian told reporters that a ceasefire would take effect in Gaza "within 24 hours" of a Cabinet meeting due to take place at 5 p.m. local time (10 a.m. ET).

Following that 24-hour period, a 72-hour window would open in which Hamas would release the remaining hostages.

Bedrosian said the final draft of phase one of the plan was signed in Egypt this morning.

Bedrosian said that Netanyahu had a "warm conversation" with Trump this morning in which both leaders congratulated each other on a "historic achievement."

Claire Parker and Abbie Cheeseman

What we know about the ceasefire deal so far

* The Israeli government is set to meet and vote Thursday afternoon to approve the agreement. The deal is expected to be signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, shortly after.

* Once signed, a 24-hour deadline will be imposed for Israeli forces to initially pull back to retain control of 53 percent of the Gaza Strip, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office. A ceasefire would begin within 24 hours of the cabinet meeting, Israel said.

* After those 24 hours, Hamas will have 72 hours to release the hostages.

* President Donald Trump and Netanyahu’s office said the release of the remaining hostages held by Palestinian militant groups in Gaza, around 20 of whom are believed to still be alive, would happen Monday.

* A surge of humanitarian aid is expected to enter Gaza.

* Under Trump’s framework, Israel would release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and some 1,700 people detained from Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023 — including all women and children who were detained. The list of prisoners is still being finalized, Netanyahu’s office said.

What we don’t know

* Thornier aspects of the wider deal — such as the disarmament of Hamas, the presence of international forces in Gaza and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops — were not mentioned when key parties announced the deal.

* Hamas officials said it is seeking a U.S. guarantee that Israel would not resume bombing Gaza after hostages are released. It remains unclear whether anything more than a verbal guarantee was offered by the United States and other mediators.

* It’s unclear how much humanitarian aid could be brought into Gaza. Trump’s original framework says that “full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip” and distributed by the United Nations and other international organizations.

IDF advancing withdrawal to original line in agreement to expedite hostage release
Ynet News, Oct 9, 2025

In order to expedite and ensure the release of hostages, the IDF will first withdraw to the initial withdrawal line within the next day, not just from Gaza City.

This involves a major withdrawal of hundreds of fighters, tanks, Humvees, equipment and infrastructure, which will be completed tomorrow in a way that will allow Hamas to regain control of most urban areas in the Gaza Strip.

By tomorrow, the IDF will also withdraw from most sections of the Morg and Netzarim corridors that were breached during Operation "Gideon's Chariots A" in central and southern Gaza, Morg and Maoz-Oz.

A special IDF force will receive the hostages in Gaza territory from the Red Cross, as in the two previous phases, and from there they will be transferred to reception centers at the border near Camp Reim.

‘HUGE MOMENT’: Notorious ABC Host Flips, Gives Trump Gushing Praise For Peace Deal

Published 49 minutes ago

on October 9, 2025

By Mark Steffen

News of a truce between Israel and Hamas sent shockwaves through the mainstream media on Thursday as it appears President Donald Trump may finally have earned his Nobel Peace Prize.

The president plans to arrive in Israel on Saturday, two days before Hamas is set to release approximately 200 living hostages still in captivity. The first phase of the peace agreement also calls for Israel’s troops to withdraw to a fixed perimeter, with a final goal of total demobilization from Gaza.

On ABC News, correspondent Martha Raddatz appeared unrecognizable from her past pieces critical of Trump as she breathlessly recounted the last several hours of negotiations between the White House, Israel, and Middle East interlocutors with the terrorist organization.

“There’s no question that if this goes as planned, if we see those remaining hostages freed and Israel begin its withdrawal, it is a remarkable achievement and President Trump most certainly deserves credit for his role,” she said.

“He has done this through diplomacy, pressure, and the sheer force of his personality and persistence.”

Raddatz most recently stoked anger on the right when she asked three guests on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday show whether President Trump was right to blame the “radical Left” for the murder of Charlie Kirk. The Trump campaign denounced her attempts to ask other Republicans about his 2024 comment referring to Nikki Haley as “bird brain.”

On Wednesday, however, Raddatz had nothing but praise for the man she frequently focuses on with hostile questioning.

Obama praises Gaza deal without mentioning Trump

Former President Barack Obama on Thursday welcomed the deal that will return hostages from Gaza and pause the conflict there, saying work can now begin on building a “lasting peace.”

Obama didn’t mention President Donald Trump in his social media post, but said everyone should view the developments of the last day positively.

“After two years of unimaginable loss and suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza, we should all be encouraged and relieved that an end to the conflict is within sight; that those hostages still being held will be reunited with their families; and that vital aid can start reaching those inside Gaza whose lives have been shattered,” Obama wrote.

He went on: “More than that, though, it now falls on Israelis and Palestinians, with the support of the U.S. and the entire world community, to begin the hard task of rebuilding Gaza – and to commit to a process that, by recognizing the common humanity and basic rights of both peoples, can achieve a lasting peace.”

Obama is the first Democratic former president to praise the deal, which is rooted in the 20-point plan Trump presented last month.

And thus the U.S. quagmire begins...

US sending 200 troops to Israel - as Netanyahu's government approves Trump's ceasefire deal

Quote
President Donald Trump will send around 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor the Gaza peace deal, US officials said on Thursday.

The announcement came as Benjamin Netanyahu's government formally approved the agreement to return the remaining hostages from Gaza.

A ceasefire will go into effect within 24 hours of the cabinet meeting when Israeli troops will also begin to withdraw from Gaza along an agreed-upon line.

Hamas will release the remaining living and dead Israeli hostages within 72 hours after that. Once they are returned, Israel will free 250 Palestinians serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans who have been held since October 7.

(snip)

In the first details of how the truce will be enforced, sources revealed that US soldiers will form part of a team that includes allies, NGOs and private sector groups.

US Central Command will establish a 'civil-military coordination center' in Israel that will facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid as well as logistical and security assistance into the war-torn territory, officials told the Associated Press.

The troops will not be sent into Gaza, but will monitor implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the transition to a civilian government in the territory, a source said.

The coordination center will be staffed by US troops who have expertise in transportation, planning, security, logistics and engineering, said the official.

American soldiers have already started to arrive and further forces will travel to the region over the weekend to begin planning and efforts to establish the center.

That pisses me off.

The 200 are to become part of a multi-national troop deployment made up of allies and NGOs.

They will NOT enter GAZA's interior redline and merely act as observers.

That said, I have a very bad feeling about the entire hostage transfer.

Hamas has been mortally wounded and without the promised funds and weaponry, together with IDF on the hunt 24/7, has brought us to this moment.

I had the TV on during our business meeting that Tuesday morning September 11, 2001 when the passenger jets hit BOTH towers.

What bigger moment than a suicide attack with explosions?  Because I also remember the truck roaring to the US Marine barracks, which killed 279,...many in their sleep.

Hamas will become immortal 'Heroes" at the expense of Israel and the United States.

I just don't trust them.

And certainly don't understand how quickly everything moved forward when Jaren Kushner showed up.

U.S. sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor ceasefire deal in Gaza
CNBC, Oct 9, 2025

The United States is sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor the ceasefire deal in Gaza as part of a team that includes partner nations, nongovernmental organizations and private sector players, U.S. officials said Thursday.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details not authorized for release, said U.S. Central Command is going to establish a “civil-military coordination center” in Israel that will help facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid as well as logistical and security assistance into the territory wracked by two years of war.

The remarks provide some of the first details on how the ceasefire deal would be monitored and how the U.S. military would have a role in that effort. After Israel and Hamas agreed this week to the first phase of a Trump administration plan to halt the fighting, a litany of questions remain on next steps, including Hamas disarmament, a withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a future government in the territory.

One of the officials said the new team would help monitor implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the transition to a civilian government in Gaza.

The coordination center will be staffed by about 200 U.S. service members who have expertise in transportation, planning, security, logistics and engineering, said the official, who noted that no American troops will be sent into Gaza.

A second official said troops would come from U.S. Central Command as well as other parts of the globe. That official added that the troops already have begun arriving and will continue to travel to the region over the weekend to begin planning and efforts to establish the center.

Israel did not need 200 American troops to help eliminate the Hamas threat.  But Hamas does need 200 American troops to protect them from Israel.  Dumb move.  We should have let Israel finish the job first.

Trying to convince myself that 200 U.S. military sent to Israel/Gaza is absolutely no difference than sending the National Guard into Washington, DC or Chicago Illinois.

Let's be factual here.  We already had US troops in Israel.  With Patriot missiles, you think we did not have military folks there triaining them all along?  Hell yes.

We have had US military in Ukraine too conducting training on all the mililtary equipment we have been shipping them.  The US has been training Ukraine military since Russia attacked in 2014.

So, there are a couple hundred here, a couple hundred there.  It is not news.

Now, if these 200 were Seabees/engineers, there to scope out the possibility of luxury hotels in Gaza, I would say he is carrying out his plans for an all new Gaza, the new future French Riviera of the Med.  But as a peace keeping operation, this will not end well.

This opens the window for these genocidal maniacs to start killing troops of the BIG EVIL SATAN, as they see us.  These men better have maximum protection there, because they are going to need it.  And what will we do when they target and kill US troops?  I would like to know that policy before we send folks there.  Anything that does not include the words TOTAL ANNIHILATION will show Trump to be a weak sister.

Now, I hope all goes as President Trump wishes.  But you know he is holding his breath with Hamas, for they are muslims, and the worst kind being genocidal maniacs.

You have to read the statement carefully...the 200 troops are from CENTCOM and they are there to keep an eye more on the Israelis rather than Hamas.

HOWEVER, Trump is also sending in "NGOs" and "private sector" security contractors, aka expendable Mercenaries like Blackwater/Xe/Academe/Constellis, to do the actual dirty work in Gaza.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackwater_(company)

It feels a whole lot like Mogadishu 1992-1993 that started out as a limited humanitarian/logistics mission but ended up with Black Hawk Down.

This whole things stink and Trump lied about it by omission.
