Former FBI director Comey to be indicted in Virginia soon, MSNBC reports

Former FBI Director James Comey is expected to be indicted in the Eastern District of Virginia in the coming days, MSNBC reported on Wednesday, citing three sources.

"The full extent of the charges being prepared against Comey is unclear, but the sources believe that at least one element of the indictment—if it goes forward--will accuse him of lying to Congress during his testimony on September 30, 2020 about whether he authorized a leak of information," a MSNBC reporter wrote on X.

NBC News is reporting, citing three sources familiar with the matter, that former FBI Director James Comey is expected to be indicted in the coming days.

The investigation into Comey, which is being run by federal prosecutors with the US Attorney’s Office for Virginia’s eastern district, is examining whether Comey made false statements during his September, 30, 2020, testimony to Congress on his handling of information relating to the bogus Russian collusion investigation.

If Comey were indeed to face charges over false testimony during the meeting, prosecutors would have until Tuesday in order to secure an indictment within the five-year statute of limitations to charge someone with perjury. With resources familiar, tell MSNBC, former FBI Director James Comey is expected to be indicted in the coming days. The full extent of the charges being prepared against Comey is unclear

Fox News reported back in June that the FBI was investigating Comey and former CIA Director John Brennan over their potential roles in the bogus investigation, as well as potentially false testimony on the matter before Congress.

Two sources familiar with the probe described the duo’s actions as “conspiracy,” which could open the door to a wide range of additional investigations and potential criminal charges. Both Brennan and Comey declined to comment when asked by Fox News, while the FBI has also not yet provided an official statement.

Two sources familiar with the matter tell me prosecutors in the EDVA US attorney‘s office presented newly sworn US attorney Lindsey Halligan with a memo explaining why charges should not be brought against James Comey, because there isn’t enough evidence to establish probable cause a crime was committed, let alone enough to convince a jury to convict him.

Justice Department guidelines say a case should not be brought unless prosecutors believe it’s more likely than not that they can win a conviction beyond a reasonable doubt.

This detail was first reported by ABC News. EDVA declined to comment.

Yes, that too.  But most pools are pretty big, so it comes down to who can read prospective jurors the best and strategically use one’s strikes to get the best jury one can for one’s side.

Marlow: Comey Leaked Records to Columbia Professor So It Would Hit New York Times, Prompt Russiagate Special Counsel

On Thursday’s “Alex Marlow Show,” host and Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow talked about James Comey.

Marlow said, “[H]e was trying to shop a story of Russian collusion to the media to try to induce a special counsel into Donald Trump…he disclosed a memo to…a professor at Columbia Law School with a plan to have him share it with the New York Times.”

A liberal Obama judge, an area in a state that is overwhelmingly Democommie, there is no way he is found guilty.

Total waste of time.

And I suspect 80% of the DOJ is staunchly liberal.  Bondi is fighting a losing battle if she cannot terminate all these stinking liberals.
