If the shooter left 'messages' on the bullets and on the rifle, which he must have done before the assassination, that necessarily means that he intended for the gun and the bullets to be found. Therefore, the location of the weapon and the weapon itself should be taken with skepticism since everything found is a deliberate plant.

I do not know if the FBI will be able to do ballistic analysis to make sure the rifle found actually fired the shot.

If true - we can absolutely say all the folks assuming this was a "professional" are incorrect.   No professional would set up a scope with that magnification level with eye relief set like that nor would a professional have their rings up against the turrets unless there's some one off reason to do so and this rifle isn't one of those cases.

Registered to a Sky West Aviation Inc, in ABQ.  I see SkyWest is a small regional commerical airline, so it its even stranger if the transponders were truly turned off.

Agreed, it's odd-looking. Scope placement is way too far back toward the shooter... among other things.  Sadly, if this was indeed the rifle, it worked.

Supporters of Charlie Kirk have started a GiveSendGo with the aim of raising $1 million for his family after the 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder’s assassination on Wednesday.

The co-founder of GiveSendGo, a crowdfunding platform founded on Christian values of charity for those in need, posted the campaign to X on Wednesday night, just hours after Kirk was shot and killed at the first stop of his “American Comeback Tour” at Utah Valley University. Kirk, a conservative firebrand and devout follower of Jesus Christ, is survived by his wife Erika and his two young children.

“We are getting lots of campaigns created for the family of Charlie Kirk from well-intentioned people all over. We will ensure that all funds [raised] are directly transferred to the family. Here is the primary account,” co-founder Jacob Wells said.

The campaign was created by Liberty Memes Foundation, which describes itself as a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is “to promote liberty and voluntaryism through community action and crowdfunded causes.”

“For Charlie Kirk’s Wife & Children. Charlie Kirk was cut down today by a cowardly gunman. He leaves behind a grieving family,” the organization wrote on the campaign page.

“100% of proceeds from this fund will be given directly to his wife and children, paid out directly from the GiveSendGo platform. Liberty Memes Foundation will not take any percentage of proceeds from this fundraiser,” the organization continued.

Wells described Kirk as a model of love for Jesus who fearlessly stood against “the kingdom of darkness” as an inspiration for many others to do the same.

As of Thursday afternoon, the campaign had amassed more than $260,000 in donations with nearly 3,500 individual donations.

“My heart breaks for Charlie and his lovely family. Thank you, Charlie, for everything you have done for your country, and the world. I pray blessings on your family,” one anonymous giver wrote.

“We are praying for Charlie, his wife, children, family and friends. May God hold you all in his arms and bring comfort to you during this difficult time,” another person wrote.

“The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18,” wrote another contributor.

Trump says he spoke to Charlie Kirk's wife following assassination: 'She's devastated'

 President Donald Trump on Thursday said he spoke with the wife of Charlie Kirk, saying she was “devastated” by the killing of her husband.

Trump was boarding Marine One when he spoke with reporters about the assassination and the conversation with Kirk's wife, Erika Lane Frantzve.

“I spoke to Erika. We had a long talk. She's devastated,” he said.

Kirk was also a father to two young children.

Trump said he has an “indication” about the motive behind the killing but refused to say anything further.

"Charlie Kirk was a great person, a great man. Great in every way," Trump said.

Am embarrassed to admit that I have a friend for 25 years where we are unable to have friendly honest discussion about Republicans vs Democrats.

I know in my cold, dark heart that he privately rejoiced at Kirk's murder...but only because of the news sources to which he is exposed.

He believes in his heart that Charlie Kirk preached hate and exclusion of specific groups...that he was a Nazi and a Fascist.

Now....HTF are we supposed to deal with it?  It's getting worse each passing month.

Charlie Kirk was a dishonest loudmouth, a punk and a Trumpist, partisan shill who represented the worst of what politics (especially right-wing politics) has become the past decade. Scroll up and take a look at the supposed murder weapon @roamer_1 it is a sporterized rifle with a Mauser action and a scope. The only Mauser part remaining is the action.

Definitely a Mauser action that has been rebarreled, drilled and tapped, and restocked at minimum. IMHO likely planted to mislead. @roamer_1
