New warning issued as four states to see freezing temperatures

Below-average temperatures associated with a cold front will persist across the country with at least four states warned of frost and potentially freezing weather on Friday night.
Why It Matters
The end of summer has brought contrasting weather across the country, with the Pacific Northwest under extreme heat warnings amid above-average temperatures and much of the rest of the central and northern U.S. experiencing below-average temperatures. In some cases, temperatures have dipped low enough for frost to form, prompting National Weather Service (NWS) meteorologists to issue warnings for people to protect sensitive vegetation and plumbing.
On Friday afternoon, NWS meteorologists issued a frost advisory for Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming. A more serious freeze warning was issued for western North Dakota.
In North Dakota, the frost advisory will go into effect at 1 a.m. local time Saturday and remain in place until 10 a.m. Temperatures as low as 33 degrees, which could result in frost formation, will impact Lake Of The Woods, North Beltrami, South Beltrami, East Marshall, East Polk, North Clearwater, Pennington, Red Lake, and Roseau counties.
