Providence Police are under investigation for allegedly violating a city ordinance by collaborating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during an operation targeting Honduran national Ivan Rene Mendoza-Meza. An accused fentanyl trafficker and MS-13 member, Mendoza-Meza was reportedly tracked by agents following a crash. The Providence External Review Authority (PERA) found that police "impermissibly assisted" ICE.
