Michigan Islamic scholar Ahmad Musa Jibril criticized in an August 3, 2025 video those who claim to care about the children in Gaza while simultaneously loving the United States, supporting the democratic process, and feeling proud of the country. He asked how anyone with a “sane mind” could reconcile this. Jibril said such concepts should be removed from the Islamic nation and added that the American flag belongs as a mat in the house. He continued that when the “buffoons” in the West, along with their Islamic scholars in the East, are “polishing” their tyrants, it is like a pimp presenting his prostitute as an honorable noble virgin. Ahmad Musa Jibril served six and a half years in prison for conspiracy, fraud, money laundering, and possession of firearms and ammunition. He is considered to have inspired several Jihad attacks and initiatives in the West.
Ahmad Musa Jibril: "You are seeing people who claim to sympathize with the children in Gaza, but at the same time, they love the United States, and they love the democratic process, they love this country.

"You see figures telling people they love the United States, be proud that you are a Yemeni-American, be proud that you are a Palestinian-American, and at the same time they are speaking for the people of Gaza – how do you do that? How does anyone with a sane mind talk like that? This needs to be cleared from the hearts of the Islamic nation. When they teach you about have pride in that flag, take that flag down and put it as a mat in your house. That's where it belongs.
