I love classical music, and the only FM radio source for it in our area is an NPR station. If cutting their taxpayer funding means they can't survive, that's rough but I'll survive. When I lived in St. Louis, I listened to a classical station operated by the Lutheran Church, so it is possible for others to step into the breach, so to speak.
I have a sorta media center hooked up... I have a pooter hooked to a TV, so the TV is just a big, dumb monitor. That's how I watch everything.
But to your point, sound is plumbed from the pooter to the tv via HDMI... But then the sound is plumbed from the TV to an old school stereo amplifier AUX channel and out to speakers... Real stereo home speakers.
Now, my motive might be different than yours - I need to FEEEEEL the music, something that earphones totally don't do. not at all.
So I can 'pump up the volume' old school, and get the whole place rockin if I want to. That ambient thump is way mo bedda than headphones.
And the way it is hooked up, literally anything can be streamed direct from the internet (including radio, btw). Almost literally anything you might want to listen to, of any genre, of any age... It's all there.
And don't think my redneck ass has never tuned into some Beethoven or Pachebel or the like a time or two...
As an aside, I do also have good, bluetooth enabled headphones that are paired to that pooter... so I can pump the sound that way too, instead... But that is more for movies.
