Border agents at LAX airport in Los Angeles confiscated 300 pounds of drugs hidden in a peculiar location, reported The New York Post.
On Monday, July 21, agents with the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) office seized 300 pounds of methamphetamine hidden within a box of solar panels. Pictures show the rimming of one panel pulled back to reveal aluminum packets of drugs within. Though the culprits have yet to be identified, that didn't stop CBP from poking fun at them on social media. "We do this every day. These ‘criminal masterminds' never stood a chance," the post read.
Thanks to "prior intel," authorities knew the package was headed for New Zealand and were able to "intercept" it before the drugs made their way onto the street. There have been no arrests in connection with the drug bust, but an investigation to locate those responsible is still underway. The CBP did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Men's Journal.
