BREAKING: Pam Bondi has fired Maurene Comey, daughter of James Comey, from her job as a prosecutor in the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office, per Politico. She worked on the prosecutions of Ghislaine Maxwell, Jeffrey Epstein, and Sean "Diddy" Combs.

Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, was fired Wednesday from her job as a prosecutor in the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office, according to two people familiar with the matter who were granted anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The reason for her firing was not immediately clear. She did not immediately respond to phone calls and an email seeking comment.

Comey, who had worked in the U.S. attorney’s office for nearly a decade, prosecuted both Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. ...

The firing also comes as the Trump administration is reportedly investigating her father, whom Trump has long reviled. The investigations apparently relate to James Comey’s role in the probe of links between Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, as well as a recent Instagram post by James Comey that Trump allies saw as threatening to Trump. ...

Good riddance to an incompetent partisan hack. The consensus seemed to be that she royally screwed up the Combs case.

Perhaps, but this reeks more of punishing the daughter for the sins of the father, or else Bondi trying to take the heat off herself for the Epstein mess she created.

Either way, this firing is probably illegal.

Maurene Comey lashed out at Trump in a message to colleagues after she was fired.

Maurene Comey, daughter of James Comey, was fired as a federal prosecutor in the Manhattan US Attorney’s office on Wednesday.

“There was no specific reason given for her firing from the U.S. attorney’s office in the Southern District of New York, according to one of the people who spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity to discuss personnel matters,” the AP reported.

Maurene Comey didn’t call out Trump by name, but she attacked the president and his administration in a message after being fired.

“Fear is the tool of a tyrant, wielded to suppress independent thought,” Maurene Comey wrote in a message to colleagues.
