Mom and Dad Are Fighting Again
David Strom

The Big Beautiful Bill is getting close to passage--maybe--and Elon Musk is very unhappy.

And when Elon is unhappy, everybody knows it, including Donald Trump, who, in turn, is unhappy with Elon.

And when these guys are unhappy, everybody else knows it immediately.

Elon famously hates the Big Beautiful Bill because it blows up the deficit, although there is a lot of legitimate dispute about the extent to which that really is true. After all, the vast majority of that increase in the deficit is an accounting trick caused by extending the Trump tax cuts from his first term--tax cuts that, at least for the most part, nobody expected to expire.

In other words, unless the bill passes, there will be a multi-trillion-dollar tax increase, and nobody wants that other than the farthest left.

Musk Associate Warns Trump: Elon Never Forgets

Charlie McCarthy    |   Monday, 30 June 2025 12:33 PM EDT

One Elon Musk associate said he expects the Tesla and SpaceX CEO to "do everything to damage" President Donald Trump following the two men's public fallout.

Musk, who spent nearly four months heading Trump's Department of Government Efficiency until leaving the administration in late May, has criticized the president's "one big, beautiful bill" for not sufficiently reducing spending.

The two men even got into a nasty online spat, with Musk saying sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's records had not been released by the Justice Department due to Trump being mentioned. Musk later apologized for his remarks, saying they "went too far."

However, neuroscientist Philip Low warned that Musk is power hungry and prone to seeking revenge, Politico reported.

"I've had my share of blowouts with Elon over the years," said the 45-year-old Low, who once fired Musk from the advisory board of the Silicon Valley startup he founded.

"Knowing Elon the way I know him, I do think he's going to do everything to damage the president."
