Gov. Polis sued over complying with a subpoena asking for immigration information

DENVER, Colo. (KKCO) - Colorado Governor Jared Polis is being sued by a state employee who claims he is sharing private data on adults housing immigrant children.

In April, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment received a subpoena from the Department of Homeland Security. The document requested contact and employment information for 35 adults caring for immigrant children.

State employee Scott Moss filed a lawsuit, arguing that the information would be shared with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Colorado law, signed by Polis, restricts state and local governments from sharing information with ICE unless it is part of a criminal investigation or to comply with a court-issued subpoena. The document received in April was signed by a Homeland Security agent, not a judge.

How does Moss have standing?

Good Q.

The federal government has absolute authority to decide who should be in this country or not.

Not anymore.  The judiciary now handles that. :judge:

Nope, that is an illusion because Trump is permitting it.  For now.

Yeah, it's tough being part of a discrete and insular minority.
