Border Patrol agents did not release any illegal migrants into the United States during the month of May, a decrease from the more than 60,000 who were released into the U.S. the year before, according to a report.


The New York Post reported that while Border Patrol agents “caught 8,725” illegal aliens attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border in May, none of them were released into the country. This represents a 93 percent decrease from May 2024, when roughly 62,000 illegal aliens were released into the U.S. under the Biden administration.

In a statement to the outlet, acting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Pete Flores touted how the CBP “has received historic support” under the “leadership” of the Trump administration.

“Under the leadership of this administration, CBP has received historic support resulting in another 93% decrease in illegal crossings along the southwest border this month when compared with last year,” Flores explained to the outlet.
