Elmo has a friend, indeed.

Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., brought along a stuffed friend to help make a point on the House floor Thursday.

Jeffries held up a stuffed Elmo doll while accusing Republicans of targeting beloved children's shows like "Sesame Street" in their push to slash federal spending.

"Today, we are on the floor of the House of Representatives debating legislation that targets Elmo. And Big Bird. And Daniel Tiger and ‘Sesame Street,'" Jeffries said, waving the puppet as he railed against the GOP-led rescissions package.

I would think that all of the Sesame Street puppet toys sold is enough to pay for PBS staying on the air...geeez they have been in business for 55 years...

If Elmo and others desire, they are free to compete for funding with other for profit entities.

They aren't being banned, just being allowed to be subject to the whims of the marketplace, Like everyone else.

Elmo is the leader of a notorious street gang, Da Seasame Street Bloodz.  He should not be getting Federal funds.

LOL.  Reminds me of a video one of my boys showed me some time back about "Behind the Scenes" of Sesame Street.  "Elmo will CUT you!!"
