What the Hell Was That Tulsi Gabbard Video About?

Let's talk about nuclear war, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard's weird video about nuclear war.

President Donald Trump's onetime Democrat DNI released a campaign-style video this week, discussing the threat and real-world effects of nuclear weapons, following her recent visit to Hiroshima.

Gabbard got raked over the coals by right-leaning critics, some conflating her remarks with an historically illiterate apology for Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Noah Rothman was one of several who accused her of "all but endors[ing] Barack Obama’s revisionist and ahistorical account of the end of the Second World War," although I didn't hear anything like that.

But that's not to say that Gabbard's video wasn't at the very least odd.

At one point, Gabbard claimed that our "political elite and warmongers" are fomenting global thermonuclear war "because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won’t have access to."

They still have to come out sometime. Real life isn't an episode of "Fallout."

Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) — no RINO squish — quipped, “She obviously needs to change her meds," and I'm inclined to agree.

Trump's selection of Gabbard is just one more person not qualified, or not possessing the right mindset to hold a high position.

Frankly, all one need do is ask one simple question, if Japan or Germany had gotten their hands on  nuclear weapons before us, is there doubt in anyone's mind they would have used them to attain victory in the war?  They would have used them in a nanosecond, and you can bet the house on it!  That said, I have zero sympathy for those that died or suffered from the fallout.  ZERO!!!

There are countless examples of how heartless the Japanese were, brutal beyond imagine, to our military, burning them alive, or marching them to their death, or starving them in prison camps, etc.  Tens of thousands died, were murdered at the hands of the Japanese.  And the brutality to the population in China is beyond imagination.  Lining Chinese civilians up and having contests on how many they could kill with one bullet, cutting unborn babies our of their mothers, and tossing them in the air to see if they could catch them on their bayonets.  Burying people in the ground and allowing dogs to tear them apart.

In fact, I know the Chinese would love nothing more then to get their revenge with the Japanese.  Only the USA is standing in the way, protecting the murderous Japanese.  My father fought in the Pacific theater, drove a landing craft at some of the worst battles in the Pacific.  He was never willing to talk about what he saw and experienced.

The destruction at Hiroshima and Nagasaki brought an end to the war with Japan.  Had those attacks not taken place, the estimate was 1 million Allied casualties to invade Japan and bring an end to the war.  From my view, and I have held this all my life, if killing 1 million Japanese ended the war and saved 1 million Allied casualties, it was a just and righteous decision, one never to be questioned by pukes like Tulsi Gabbard.  What message is she trying to convey, that the USA was wrong and now we are weak and unwilling to give all we can to defeating an enemy?

Gabbard should be removed immediately.  She is an idiot!  This is exactly the message we need to be sending when Putin and Russia are laughing at Trump's approach to dealing with Putin and Russia(Hell no it is!!!).  Trump behaves like Putin is a long time friend or former roommate from university days when he has been a criminal thug from day one, stealing everything he could get his hands on and killing anyone that uttered a word against him, even tracking them down and killing them in foreign countries to get his revenge.

President Trump, screw your brain back in and get rid of Gabbard immediately.

Speaking of the Japanese in China: After the war, the top Chinese general visited Nagasaki & Hiroshima. While he was on the way, he told the Americans that the Chinese planned to kill all Japanese males, except those under 10 who would be castrated and used for slave labor until they died; kill all Japanese women over 25, sterilize the remainder and use them for "pleasure women".

When the General saw Nagasaki and Hiroshima, he commented, "You Americans do good work".

I think it is easy, especially with hundreds of flicks out of Hollywood about survivors after nuclear Armageddon, to ignore the very real and horrific effects of nuclear munitions on those in the vicinity of such detonations.

Gabbard has a point which might be overlooked in the whole 'was it right or wrong' discussion, namely that this was the weapon once considered horrible enough to not ever want to use again, a level of horror we might not want to unleash again, because the effects would not be confined to our enemies, but inevitably brought home to at least some of us who don't have taxpayer provided bunker complexes with a decade or more worth of supplies, buried beneath some hollowed out mountain. She has a point. Those rattling that saber are those most likely to avoid the direct consequences.

This goes hand in hand with toning down the rhetoric about 'tactical' nuclear exchanges with Russia, "Limited Nuclear Warfare" (as if!), and stands foursquare against letting Iran develop the bomb.

While I am fully for having and maintaining a nuclear deterrent force, Using it is as more than a deterrent is not some place we (meaning all such endowed powers) want to go.

Leaning back on the concept of Mutually Assured Destruction, that is the most likely outcome.

But the Georgia Guidestones' followers would be creaming their jeans at the concept...Even more than the 13 of every 14 people on Earth eliminated would suit them just fine.
