Two Israeli embassy staffers killed in Washington shooting, suspect held

May 21 (Reuters) - Two Israeli embassy staff were killed in a shooting outside an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, DC, on Wednesday night, and a suspect is in custody, officials said.

A man and a woman were shot and killed in the area of 3rd and F streets in Northwest which is near the museum, an FBI field office and the U.S. attorney's office. They were a young couple about to be engaged to be married, the Israeli ambassador said.

Washington Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith said a single suspect who was seen pacing outside the museum before the event was in custody. The suspect, tentatively identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, chanted "Free Palestine, Free Palestine," in custody, she said.

I can't help but say it, as long as Palestine exists at all, innocent people are going to be sent to their death.

What will it take for the western world to awaken to the genocidal society of Palestine, and send them where they belong, every last one of them?

Perhaps when they detonate a nuclear device smuggled into Israel from Gaza, which was provided by the good people of Iran. Perhaps then, but even then, I have my doubts.

Authorities give update on two Israeli Embassy employees shot and killed in Washington, D.C.
Two Israeli Embassy employees were shot and killed Wednesday night as they left the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., officials said. A suspect is in custody.

In a late-night news conference, Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith said the shooting was reported at 9:08 p.m. local time and occurred outside the museum, which is located near an FBI field office.

Smith said the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, of Chicago, was initially "observed pacing back and forth outside of the museum" before he approached a group of four people, "produced a handgun," and shot the two victims.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry identified the victims in a post on X, saying, "We are shocked and horrified this morning by the news of the brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of two of our Embassy staff members in Washington — Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. May their memory be a blessing."

A couple things should be investigated:

A pro-Palestinian man is in custody after allegedly killing two Israeli embassy staff members who were leaving an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night, authorities confirmed.

The Embassy of Israel to the US identified the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, who were set to be engaged.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith said during a news conference that officers responded to multiple calls of a shooting near the museum at around 9:08 p.m. on Wednesday.

When authorities arrived at the scene, a man and a woman were found unconscious and not breathing. Despite life-saving efforts from first responders, Smith said both were pronounced dead.

A 30-year-old man identified as Elias Rodriguez, of Chicago, is believed to have committed the act alone and is in custody, Smith said, adding that his gun was also recovered.

This attack should be a federal crime, tried in federal courts and not the districts courts. The district probably supports this POS. This individual should receive the death penalty, and it should be carried out quickly.

That is true enough. But unfortunately, unlike the Allies effort of ending the Nazis, much of the world opposes the Israelis ending Hamas. And with the Constitution in Palestine spelling out their desire to destroy Israel and kill every Jew, I say that eliminating Hamas does NOT solve the problem. It may set them back a few years, but they will conspire to have another October 7th attack, on a larger scale down the road.

It is not just Hamas but the whole of the Palestinian mindset of genocide. There is but one solution.

When the muslim world uses a nuclear weapon, that will be the trigger to end them once and for all. To believe otherwise is just naive.

Mixed feelings on this.... it was murder (pretty clear).... the victims were pushing a LGBT+ display (not a fan which is an understatement)....

Seems the shooter was more focused on just the "kill the Jew" aspect though. Something ingrained in their heads from the time they could talk. Same can be said about what Islamic people think of the USA, but yet here they are just sucking all the oxygen out any location they claim to hate. Just waiting to strike like a viper that has been given freedom to roam.

I don't understand the Jewish obsession with pushing perversion though... Any real Jew would understand why. So we probable have secular Jews pushing every weirdo act one could imagine... Why even claim to be Jewish? You can visit sites that "hate the Jew" and they talk about this sexual deviance. Sadly it is true and keeps me from being 100% pro-Jewish.... I will not support the secular side of American Jewish, just as I would not support the deviance that was in Berlin during the 30s-40s. I can actually somewhat understand the dislike of some Jewish people.

I guess it boils down to dislike of the sin, both in Islam and secular Judaism (which is not really a religion IMHO). I fully support Christian Jews, somewhat support religious Jews, dislike most secular Jews and basically don't like any Islamic idiot.

Elias Rodriguez , the suspect who allegedly murdered two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington D.C. on Wednesday night has been charged with two counts of murder.

According to the affidavit, Rodriguez has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder of foreign officials, causing the death of a person through the use of a firearm, and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.

The two victims killed in the attack have been identified by Israel as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim.

“During an interview with MPD detectives, after having been advised of his Miranda rights and after waiving them, RODRIGUEZ expressed admiration for the actions of an individual who self-immolated in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., on February 25, 2024, as a form of protest intended to draw attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” the affidavit alleged. “RODRIGUEZ described this person’s actions as courageous and labeled him a ‘martyr.’ Rodriguez also stated that he had purchased a ticket to the event at the Museum approximately three hours prior to its commencement.”

Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Yechiel Leiter described the pair as a "young couple about to be engaged," and noted that, "The young man purchased a ring this week," planning to propose "to his girlfriend next week in Jerusalem."

A post on the official X account of the embassy of Israel to the United States stated that "a terrorist shot and killed them as they exited an event at the Capital Jewish Museum in DC."

I have reviewed the criminal complaint against Elias Rodriguez. Here are the facts:

-Sarah Milgrim was shot multiple times, including when crawling away.

-Yaron Lischinsky was pronounce dead on the scene.

-Rodriguez turned himself over to police after they arrived. He told police “I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza.”

-Police recovered twenty-one expended
9mm cartridge casings, a firearm magazine, and a 9mm handgun.

-Rodriguez expressed his admiration for Aaron Bushnell to police.

-He flew to DC on May 20 from Chicago with the firearm.

“Eric Rodriguez was our guest during the President’s Joint Speech to Congress, but we don’t know his family,” the Democrat’s office said in a statement.

Just how did he get past airport security with a functioning 9mm gun? Was this another 3D printed gun, one with a higher capacity magazine? My 9mm holds like 16 (or is it 17?) rounds... It makes no sense that a Latino guy with a prominent father would suddenly become another Democrat Antifa Nazi. Why? Why does he care about Jews? Don't the Latinos have enough causes of their own? Why would he suddenly branch out to become a Hamas supporter with all the stuff already on his plate?

His father recently went to a Trump event. I think this might be 'daddy issues'. He wanted to screw over his moderate father (which he certainly did do) like an impulsive spoiled brat. Elias will soon discover that his daddy tantrum will cost him his life. Life in prison or death penalty, either way he flushed his whole life down a toilet supposedly for 'Palestine', to which he has no connection and it means nothing to him.

When reality finally hits him, when he realizes the daddy can't save him from this, when he realizes that his life is over from now on, he will wake up like from a trance. Then he goes into depression and becomes suicidal.

All for Palestine? I don't think so. Something made him do this. I doubt his motivation was anything to do with 'saving gaza'. That just makes no sense.

I'm no shrink, but I do have a visceral understanding of human nature.

Incidents like this, praised in the press or online, will only embolden the next wave of violent acts.

Without swift and dire consequences for this sort of behaviour, whether it was directed at Insurance company executives or against Jewish couples, (essentially, whoever the Left is pumping up the Hate for), there will be an accelerating decay of law and order, and random (or not so random) assassinations like this, perpetrated against people the perpetrator has no first hand knowledge of.

I propose bringing back public hangings, firing squads, or the like (considering drawing and quartering is out).
