Why @berdie , are the Palestinian leaders called "a group of terrorists"?
Because they are a group of terrorists. (See: Hamas)
Methinks the whole of the Middle East would have been better off if the Palestinians could have formed their own nation state in their own homeland ---
They had that in 1948. But they gave it up because their hatred of the Jews was more important than having their own nation state in their homeland.
--- or if Israel had formally annexed the territory, with the people living in it.
Because they didn't want to be annexed by Israel. They much preferred Arab occupation over getting along with the Jews.
Lastly, it's true the Arab world is not willing to help or take in the Palestinians.
And there's a good reason why.
This reaction is not new ---- the world witnessed a similar reaction when Western nations were not willing to help or take in Jewish Europeans in the 1930s and 1940s.
Uh, no. Western actions to maintain existing immigration quotas (Jews and non-Jews alike) would not be to blame for Jordan's/Egypt's/Lebanon's/Iraq's/Iran's/Saudi Arabia's/Syria's decision not to allow any Palestinians into their country.
Ever heard of Black September? Jordan allowed Palestinian refugees into their country up until the time they tried to overthrow the Jordanian government. That was their red line. And it happened well over a quarter century after your false Jewish European scenario.
