Dozens Charged After Sweeping ICE Arrests

Federal authorities have charged 27 individuals linked to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua in New York with RICO racketeering offenses. The charges cover serious crimes such as human smuggling, sex trafficking, and murder, as part of a nationwide Justice Department effort called “Operation Take Back America” targeting illegal immigration and transnational crime. The indictments target six alleged current Tren de Aragua members and 21 reportedly affiliated with a splinter group called Anti-Tren, made up of former gang members.
