Justice Redefines Democracy
This week, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson condemned criticism of judges who have slapped injunctions on most of the Trump Administration's efforts to implement the policies supported by voters who elected him to be president, calling this criticism "a direct threat to our democracy."
"Judges are the 'philosopher kings' envisioned by Plato's Republic and installed by our Founding Persons as the ultimate authority for determining what laws are allowed in Article III of the US Constitution," she asserted in a speech to a conference of judges in Puerto Rico. "Unlike the other branches of government, the judiciary is only one comprised of the nation's foremost legal experts. Every judge has a law degree. Most of those elevated to the Supreme Court have degrees from the elite law schools. No one else who participates in our government is as well prepared to rule this nation."
"While many members of Congress also have law degrees, many others do not," she pointed out. "The most recent US Presidents to have law degrees have all been Democrats--Biden, Obama, and Clinton. Trump does not have a law degree. I maintain that his lack of a proper education in the law renders him unqualified to challenge the rulings made against his tyrannical policies by the judges who have had that education."
"The intent of those who drafted our Constitution clearly indicates where ultimate authority was meant to lie," she contended. "The terms of members of Congress are short. Representatives are elected for two years at a time. Senators are elected for six. Presidents are are elected for four years and limited to two term. In contrast, judges are appointed for life. They are entrusted with the power to sentence people to prison or execution. No other member of government is entrusted with such awesome authority. This is something that President Trump should give some serious thought to before he attempts to disobey the decisions made by judges."
The judges attending the conference gave the Justice a standing ovation for her remarks. US Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) praised her speech, calling her reasoning "irrefutable. I hope that Trump recognizes that his presence in the White House is only temporary. Once the logic of her speech is truly comprehended by Congress I believe a majority of both Parties will unite against his campaign to usurp the permanent governing authority from the courts. When Republicans make this clear to Trump I hope, for his sake, that he resumes an appropriate subservient role before he has to be impeached and imprisoned."
In related news, Schumer took great pleasure in announcing that the SAVE Act (legislation that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote) "will never get the 60 votes needed to pass. Now that the citizenship issue has been disposed of the ten million immigrants we let in during President Biden's term will be providing the votes our Party needs to take back the presidency and both Houses of Congress within the next four years, reopen the borders, and bring in enough new voters to ensure a permanent Democrat majority for at least the next millennium."
Deportation Is an Act of Aggression
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Tex) took to the airwaves to warn that "randomly kidnapping folks and sending them to other countries could be considered an act of war. Let's look at it from the perspective of these other countries. How you you feel if hardened criminals like Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gang members were sent into your country? You'd be thinking 'what did we do to deserve this?' I wouldn't be surprised if the World Court issued an arrest warrant for Donald Trump for doing what he's doing."
Acting Director of the US Immigration and Customs Tom Homan challenged what he called "Crockett's inversion of reality. No one is being kidnapped. Neither is the process random. Known lawbreakers are being apprehended. I think the American people are fed up with hardened criminals being invited into this country by former President Biden in contradiction to the laws against it. These aren't huddled masses yearning to breathe free. They are predators who have victimized countless American citizens--kidnapping them, raping them, robbing them, murdering them. Instead of acknowledging this source of the problem many Democrats are fighting like Hell to keep these criminals from being taken off of our streets."
Crockett pointed out that "the courts are siding with us on this issue. Judges all across the country are ordering Trump to bring these folks back so they can get a fair shake. Democrats like myself, Rep. Eric Swalwell (Calif) and Rep. Pramila Jayapal (Wash) want to codify the principle that these folks can't be deported without a court's permission, but Republicans won't go along."
"There's one more thing that I'd like these Republicans to keep in mind," Crockett said. "Ninety percent of the history professors at our leading universities are Democrats. When they write the books telling the history of this era people like me, Eric and Pramila will be the heroes. People like Homan, Trump, and the Republicans who enable their crimes against humanity will be the villains that their own grandchildren will be taught to hate by their classroom teachers."
2028 Dem Presidential Contender Tests Waters
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker told an audience of Democrats in New Hampshire "it's time to fight everywhere and all at once. Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace."
The group of Democratic activists, officials and donors jumped to their feet with hoots and applause. They shouted out questions and ideas on how they might turn voters against Trump and other Republicans. "Should we block rush hour traffic? Should we help MS-13 gangsters elude ICE arrest? Should we firebomb Tesla dealerships? Should we call for Republicans to be killed like that Maine teacher did?"
"All of those ideas are great," Pritzker said. "We should do all of them and many more. The key will be to make voters feel that the only way they could ever again have a peaceful day in their lives is for them to vote against Trump and the Republicans who support him. So, basically anything goes."
Pritzker contrasted himself "to that California phony Gov. Gavin Newsom. Sure he's glib and handsome, but has he got what it takes to show his toughness? I once removed all the toilets from one of my mansions in order to avoid paying property taxes. Yes, it was annoying to have to hand-carry buckets of shit outside every night and toss the contents over the property line, but I saved millions. This is the kind of outside-the-box leadership we'll be needing in the lean years to come. I've got it. Newsom doesn't."
"Look, the key to defeating the Republicans in the 2020 election was the George Floyd rioting that disrupted the civic peace during the last year of Trump's first term as president," Pritzker insisted. "We need to recreate that kind of environment. We need to be willing to get our hands dirty, burn down some buildings, and crack a few heads. The stakes are too high for us to not go all out to win."
Newsom scoffed at Pritzker's contention that "he is the man to create the needed chaos and fear. Has everyone forgotten that I forged the policies that resulted in half of California burning down? Besides, it's been more than a century since a fat man was elected president. My movie star looks will win more votes than his rotundity."
Abortion Pill More Dangerous than Originally Thought
A new study by the Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) found that serious adverse events from mifepristone are more than 20 times more frequent than the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently claims. According to the FDA, only half of a percent of women using this drug experience severe adverse reactions. This new study discovered that nearly 11% of the women taking this drug experience sepsis, infection, hemorrhaging, or another serious or life-threatening adverse event.
EPPC President Ryan Anderson said "this study is the statistical equivalent of a category 5 hurricane hitting the prevailing narrative of the abortion industry. It reveals, based on real-world data, the shocking number of women who suffer serious medical consequences because of the abortion pill. The Trump FDA should take immediate action to protect the safety of American women by reinstating the safety regulations that the Obama and Biden Administrations removed."
Spokesperson for Planned Parenthood Amanda Slaughter tried to minimize concerns by pointing out that "unwanted pregnancies can have devastating impacts on a woman's quality of life. A career can be interrupted or terminated. Her relationship with the inseminating partner can become strained or die. The burdens of parenthood could be too much to bear. This study skipped over the cost savings of this nonsurgical abortion option as well as the obvious and significant risks of giving birth. As such, it shouldn't be used to mandate the return of the safety regulations that were so wisely disregarded by Presidents Obama and Biden."
In related news, Gov. Jared Polis (D-Col) just signed legislation requiring that taxpayers fund abortions, saying "no one must be permitted to shirk his or her duty to fund this vital health care. I will not allow bogus claims of ethical or religious objections to stand in the way of everyone paying their fair share. Fortunately, the availability of mifepristone will help lower the cost of two-thirds of the abortions performed in our state."
Discovery of Algorithm Proves Election Fraud
In his research into the Wisconsin Election Commission's (WEC) voter registration database, Andrew Paquette found that the frequency of voter ID numbers ending in zero was 30.6%. The frequency for every other numeral being the last digit of an ID was 7.7%. If the numbers were issued either sequentially or randomly each numeral would have a 10% chance of showing up as the last numeral in each ID in the database.
Looking deeper into this anomaly, Paquette found that every voter ID record ending in zero had two different Wisconsin voters assigned the same voter ID number. This is evidence that the WEC's voter registration database is tainted by fraud that can manufacture phantom votes in the quantities needed to alter the outcome away from who the voters actually wanted and to the advantage of the candidate they actually rejected. This WEC database was used in the 2024 general election and in the recent 2025 election for a seat on the Wisconsin State Supreme Court.
The Help America Vote Act (HAVA, 2002), requires that each voter have a unique voter ID number and that no coded information not readily perceptible to election workers may be embedded secretly in the state voter roll database. There is no administrative necessity to justify the fact that, as it now stands, every record in the WEC voter database with a voter numbering ending in zero violates the unique ID number requirement.
President Trump has demanded a further investigation of the WEC voter registration database. However, American legal scholar Laurence Tribe said "while the anomaly an interesting puzzle, I don't think Trump or any one person has the legal standing to challenge the elections that may have been improperly affected by this anomaly. To have standing a person must show that he has been substantially harmed. No single voter can be said to have been substantially harmed as his or her vote would not have decided the outcome. Since he isn't a Wisconsin resident Trump obviously has no standing. The only body that could have standing is the entire collection of voters who voted in the contested election. Since those voters were divided in who they favored I can't imagine them all agreeing to file a lawsuit challenging the outcome."
Jefferies Memo Leaked
After completing his Capitol steps sit-in with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) wrote an email to his caucus mates. That email has now been leaked. The tone of his email can best be described as "peevish" but perhaps well-considered.
Though Jefferies' publicly avowed position is that "Trump must bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to America so he can be reunited with his family," his email advises fellow Democrats to "stop the El Salvador trips. Polls show that a majority of voters don't want this guy back in our country. They think he's a criminal. Frankly, I fear they may be right. In addition, questions are being raised regarding the number of Congresspersons that should visit him and whether they need to stay in a posh resort at taxpayer expense while there."
Since the leak, Jeffries staffer Christie Stephenson denied that "he has advised backing off on the Abrego Garcia case. When Leader Jeffries says 'more is more' push-back on this lawless administration, he means it. As Leader Jeffries has repeatedly said, House Democrats will never stop fighting for the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia. In fact, there is already talk of awarding him reparations for his suffering at the hands of Trump's goons. Jefferies is just waiting for the most appropriate moment to shift the argument in that direction."
