A Congressman from Louisiana has no business interfering in NY state elections.
Let's not go the same way as the Dems ... non-competitive primaries ... or we'll have GOP versions of Hillary, Biden, and Cackles.
The American political process was intended to be grass roots up; not political aristocracy down.
Competitive natural selection will produce the best candidates if the party's membership is representative of much of the general election electorate.
A small party of whacko's will not produce candidates that can compete in general elections.
Well apparently Trump and Johnson promised Stefanik their full-throated support for a run at NY governor in 2026 if she agreed to step back from the UN nomination now and stayed in Congress after giving up several key chairmanships (and in-House political power). But now that Mike Lawler has expressed interest in running too, Johnson has suddenly gone wobbly on that promise.
