@Hoodat

Think it's twofold:

1) Getting manufacturing jobs back inside our borders by making it more attractive/profitable for corporations them.

2) To slap into reality the foreign countries that have been taking advantage of us by inflicting tariffs on U.S. exported goods.  We're the world's most sought-after market demographic.

But nobody is ignoring the fact that the added cost of tariffs eventually find their way to the consumer.

Suppose it's like knowing when to release the pressure around one's throat during economic 'sex'.

I trust President Trump, who unquestionably has the best interests of America at heart.

Just wanted to emphasize that point and ask what happens to market share when prices rise?

IF we would put our own house in order taxwise we would have no need of tariffs but instead we choose to put anything and everything made here at a huge price disadvantage before if ever leaves the factory floor.

Too funny

You have many post complaining about the prices going up under Biden. Yet you’re fine with them going under Donald Trump simply because you “trust him.”

Bless your TDS ladened heart @LMAO

I do NOT "...have many post complaining about prices going up under Biden".

Are you going to suggest that Biden's Administration and the Trump Administration have the same level of affection for the United States' economic standing?

Crashing the economy is the Left's goal.  Cloward-Piven.

MAGA is President Trump's agenda.

You cannot be THAT ignorant!

You complained about high prices when Biden was president. But for some strange reason, you’re willing to embrace them under Donald Trump.

That’s fine. It’s just that voters will not. It’s as simple as that. It doesn’t matter whether you believe Trump has more “affection” for the American economy. When you hurt people’s businesses, retirement, and general  standard living, the voters will punish you. I don’t care if it’s Donald Trump or Joe Biden.

Telling the American people that they’re just suffering from TDS because they’re becoming very anxious about the state of the country is probably not a winning strategy

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Yep. 40% of the electorate would vote for a roadkill rodent with a 'D' after it, and form their opinions based on ABCNNBCBS, Fecebook echo chambers, and the like.
I have noticed over the years that you say some very pithy, but deeply insightful comments. This is among the very best. I am going to steal it given the opportunity.

No, I just don't have my head clear up his ass, unlike you.

Sez, chicken little, who has no pulse on just what just is exactly happening with tariff negotiations right now.  I kow a tad about Econ, and have an understanding of what is trying to be accomplished.  So let me get this straight.......   You want to continue with policies of deficit spending, and mass trade deficits, across the board, as national wealth dwindles.  This may not work, but at least we are giving it a fighting chance. .  In any case, be happy that Chuck Schumer is your biggest ally.  He appreciates your support.

And I am hardly a Trump fan, so don't even start with that angle of insults.

There is a strategic concept known as "the long game".  Until you understand that, I don't see much need in discussing this further.
