India orders ALL Pakistani nationals to leave the country and slams borders shut amid growing fears nuke-armed rivals are heading for war after massacre of tourists in Kashmir

India has ordered all Pakistani nationals to leave the country within 72 hours after a militant attack in Kashmir killed 26 tourists.

Vikram Misri, the Indian foreign secretary, accused Pakistani leaders of sponsoring 'cross-border terrorism' as Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to 'identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers' following the horrific attack near Pahalgam in the disputed region.

Indian police have said at least two of the four suspected gunmen behind the assault - which happened while US Vice President JD Vance was visiting the country - are Pakistani citizens, though Islamabad have denied any notion that it played a role in the shooting.

Pakistan responded by suspending all visas issued to Indian nationals under an exemption scheme with immediate effect and closing its airspace to Indian flights.

They also branded India's decision to suspend a decades-old water treaty as a potential 'act of war'.

Tensions have been massively between the two historical rivals since the tragedy, with fears that conflict could break out between the two nuclear-armed nations who have been bitter rivals since 1947, when the nations were split from British-controlled India.

This is BIG deal and haven't heard a word about it on TV. Expulsion of all Pakistanis is obviously a prelude to an open war.
These guys could go to a 'declared' war in a matter of days.

Yes. Been brewing forever since the British Empire came over there and carved up all these countries and territories with crazy borders according to their own whims. Many of the borders cut through existing boundaries and tribal jurisdictions. They did they same in Africa and the Middle East.

The British mandate boundaries led to a hundred years of countless wars all over the world and this is one of them.

Both of the countries have nuclear weapons aimed at each other. To quote a poster upstream, 'This is a BIG deal'. I cannot believe the silence on this from national news including Fox.

Our guy in India told me this is over a Pakistani terrorist group slaughtering "...a few Indian tourists.  They asked them their religion before killing them".

Seems to me around 15 years ago (could have been less, could have been more) that India and Pakistan were previously close to all-out war due to a similar incident.

If it happens, it happens.
Of course the muslims are hot-headed, but it seems like India could be on a short fuse lately, as well.

A nuclear exchange?
Could happen.
We had best keep as FAR out of this as we can.
If the two of them want to go at it, let them.
The rest of the world can survive.

Who will win?
I believe India would definitely have the edge, even if things go nuclear. The country will be seriously damaged, yes.

But Pakistan?
It will be... gone.
And... the world would probably be better off without it.

It's geo-political conflct amongst China, India, and Pakistan.

The region is the source or headwaters to rivers of major interest to the Chi-coms, the Pakistanis, and India.

It's also a religious and ethnic conflict.  Indian PM Modi has been deconstructing Kasmir's regional identity to further integrate it with the rest of India.  New laws have taken away historic autonomy for the region and allowed outsiders to settle in the region.

We can thank the British for this mess.  The Raj was a collection of smaller principalities under British control or "protection".  In 1947, each principality had to decide to join Pakistan or India.  The fate of Kashmir, as a semi-autonmous, principality in the Raj was not settled before the British withdrew from India.  Pakistan occupies part; India occupies part; China claims or annexed parts as well.

Modi is a Hindi ultra-nationalist who has also been ruffling ethnic feathers with similar policies in Assam, which is also of interest for China as source of irrigation water.

The US will most certainly back India as it is the buffer in that area to our common enemy China, where there has been recent conflict as well.

Look for a fairly quick call of support by Trump.
