America's DIRTIEST city revealed... and it's not NYC

America's dirtiest city has been revealed and it's not the one you might think!

If you thought New York City - famous for its rats, 8million residents, and on-the-go lifestyle would put the Big Apple above the rest when it comes to filth - you'd be wrong.

You'd also be incorrect if you thought Los Angeles with its numerous homeless encampments and drugs problems would make it top the list - although it did rank fourth.

The real winner for filthy city - based on 311 sanitation complaints - is Baltimore, Maryland.

The city of 565,000 had more than 47,000 complaints per 100,000 residents issued to 311 about cleanliness, according to House Fresh.

Once known as one of the most dangerous places in the US, the city is plagued by crime and poverty.

Second on the list is Sacramento, California, where 34,186 complaints per 100,000 residents were call in to the 311 line.

However, city officials have an excuse, as officials told House Fresh that it encourages all residents to call 311 for any service request, such as a collection services, reporting broken lids, and starting service.

You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

Detroit residents grew tired of complaining and simply moved elsewhere.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

How much of this is a question of what filth level people accept as normal?

Maybe Bal'moreans just want cleaner than people elsewhere and complain more.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I had a similar thought.  For instance, New Orleans may well be dirtier, but folks there are so laid back they don't complain (and the government there is so inefficient that complaining would be pointless -- my son who lives there, echoing a 19th century comment about NOLA, says "If you think of it as an American city, it's terribly run.  If you think of it as a Caribbean city, it's really remarkably well run.")

Of course, Baltimore is also peculiar in that urban blight is not concentrated in neighborhoods: there are blighted blocks next to reasonably nice blocks.  If you go up in a high building you can see it, random concentrations of derelict or run down buildings across the street from or even surrounded by blocks of well-kept ones, so that might contribute to extra complaints, even if the overall level of filth is no greater than in cities with bad neigbhorhoods rather than bad blocks.

Pittsburgh,  under the current ignoramus Dem mayor, is a mess.

Boston's latest problem is not dirty water ... it's rats ... and not just the ones in Boston City Hall or the Mass State House.

Years ago, a co-worker and I went outside at 3:00 AM while working through the night ... I don't know what the hell we saw ... it was huge ... looked too large to be a rat ... it was large enough for a small child to ride ... there are urban legends about super-rats ... extra-large rats that allegedly exist in some urban environments ... like rat versions of C.H.U.D.'s.
